    Default Millis...Trenton, OH

Current position is being eliminated 7-31-11 and VERY seriously considering going thru Millis training to get my CDL. They seem to be ok size wise and have decent trucks, from what I have seen and read about on their website. Can anyone tell me anything more about Millis to work for? Know they are based in WI and I live in Central Ohio...hope I can get home once in awhile...

Thanks for any and all info....

I've not heard anything bad about Millis out of Black River Falls, WI. Back when I was driving, I considered signing on with them several times, but never got around to it. From WI, they often do run east, so OH is definitely on one of their routes. I've seen their trucks in other parts of the country too, including FL. I do seem to remember a rather abbreviated training program where they were trying to get new drivers on the road as fast as possible, but don't know anything more than that. If I were going to tell you to stay away from there, I would also tell you to stay away from driving. Someone else may have bad news about them, but I do not. You certainly could do worse... You could go to England or Swift.

Thanks Windwalker. I see their trucks here on I-70 and I-71 on a very regular basis so I would hope that I could get on a run eventually that would run me through home on a regular time frame. It's just an internal desire I have always had to drive a big rig and I really like traveling and heck, they'd even pay me to do it...LOL.... Again thanks and I am not leaning toward CR England or Swift at all...

I'm pretty sure that if you drive out to the Budweiser brewery, you're gonna see a ton of Millis trailers and more than a few trucks. Millis does a lot of business with Bud.

And, several of the locations are in NJ, near the airport in the Newark area, columbus, GA, St Louis, MO, and Kansas City. Along with the twin cities and a few others. I've also seen Millis trucks in FL on I-75 and I-95. I remember when I ran CA, there were Millis trucks out there too. I'd say you've got a pretty good chance to get around. Just keep your record clean.

Thanks for you input Orangetxguy and again from you Windwalker. The local brewery here in Columbus, OH has a heck of a lot of Werner trucks around it. Don't know if they run local and then to regional transportation centers for the brewer, but rarely any Millis trucks in the city....alot on I-71 and I-70, passing through town.....Believe me, I make the move and pay for my own training, I WILL KEEP MY LICENSE CLEAN....not a kid on this end.....54yo and have some common sense and a little experience in the business world...LOL...

    Thanks again for the input...
