all local out of the quarry. I know what you mean about pull. I had to have alot of pull to get work out of the quarry i haul out of everyday. You cant even lease under anyone to haul coal?
I drive a tri/axle dump. Hauling anything from rip-rap to blacktop. I was looking into buy a dump trailer. But unless you got a steady run stocking a black-top plant or something you are kinda limited. With a tri/axle you can still stock and work for contractors and go on job-site etc.
have you tried any of the local concrete plants, i know sometimes they have to go a pretty good way to get the right kind of sand to make the correct mix, and also have you looked into hauling milk into souther belle, and also look into lewis transports i know they haul fuel around tennessee, kentucky, and ohio
Ditto for the heart of the anthracite region of PA buddy. I work for a pretty big local coal company. There are a few single truck operations that come through, but that is only because the guys who own said trucks grew up with our owner and he's a pretty decent guy. (They tend to haul unfinished coal INTO our facility to be used by us when our mines/strippings can't keep up to demand, which is most of the time..lol) Other than that it's all pretty big operations that haul finished product out of here and take it to the docks in Philly and Baltimore to be loaded on cargo ships headed to the Far East, which is where a major portion of our coal tends to go.
Food has replaced sex in my life. Now I can't even get in my own pants....
yeah, most of the coal haulers here do not take it out of kentucky, usually to ashland to be loaded onto trains or to the power plants. and around here, if you havent drove a coal truck, then its hard to find a place that will hire you nowadays because of how difficult it can be for someone who has never drove one. most of the drivers now have been doing it for 10-20 years, it can be a unforgiving occupation for rookies.
