I was envolved in a fatality wreck where someone just got in my way and died; I was not cited, not found at fault by police, they didnt even look at my logs (good ol boys them is) but my employer officially called it and 'incident' and would prolly report it to my DAC as a preventable. i have at least 1 more prev. in the last 3 years, but none envolved any damage or claims or towing beyond a silmple scratch with no 3rd parties envolved. Otherwise clean MVR for 10 years and stable work history. Should i be hesitant to quit my job?

Nah, Go right ahead and quit your job, got nothing to worry about the nations unemployment rate is topped out and ppl are scrambleing for work, I would'nt worry one bit about it. In fact I just lost my job due to cutbacks with-in Schnieder's tank division the (Southeast region) and I am not the least bit nervous so you should not be as well.

i was hoping for a non sarcastic answer...teh fact that unemployment rate in many industries is high only affects trucking so much, i know many carriers are operating at capacity so i doubt a blanket answer is called for, I was mostly thinking about my DAC and if this wreck would be a big red flag despite my 5yrs accident free driving (no fault)..

Have you pulled a copy of your "DAC" to see what it says? When you've seen it, then make your decision. BOL

I agree with Sealord about checking your DAC for yourself. I would not recommend that you quit your current job without first having another. Besides, it is much easier to get a job when you have one. Any time a driver is involved in an accident it will likely get a second look, especially when there is a fatality. The other accident in which you were involved along with this one may prevent some from hiring you but if you can provide a good explanation it might not hurt too much. As an employer I would be concerned if you came in and said that you were involved in an accident when someone "got in your way and died." Hopefully, it was just a poor choice of words.

Yeah- ive never been good at sugarcoating facts...But i can try...I cant control someone who wants to suicide by truck, but i did everything by the book...
As to the Dac; Im sure i can get prehired or something, but my company wouldnt have reported to dac till im gone, then when my new co. checks again they might get a surprise since my current employer has the habit of calling every scratch and chip an accident wether or not another vehicle was envolved or a vehicle was disabled.
The fact is i pride myself with a squeaky clean mvr 10 years and 1mil miles safe driving. . I think im just too bored of the company...

It may not show up on your DAC, but would likely be noted on your mvr. You may want to get a copy of the accident report and show it to any prospective employer. Most carriers would want to get some clarity on the accident before they made a decision.

oh yeah thats a good idea ill get to accident report! gr8 advice! But on the MVR it wont show unless a citation was issued to me and no it wasnt... in fact the officers were cool as hell, esp. the oldtimers (gotta love oldtimers)

States are different but in some if damage is over (just say) $1000 then it will show on your MVR and I would think a fatal accident would too, so check your MVR too
