    Default Millis/Roehl??????

Which is better for a newbie to train from and work for initially....????? Both seem to have trucks running through my area, north Central Ohio, on a regular basis, so I figure they would be able to either one get me home on a decent schedule and both offer training...

Anybody know ANYTHING about either of these companies???? Just received word today that my current job is ending 7-6-10 and I'm really leaning toward one of these two companies to get my training through. Please, anyone able to give me some insight on them let me know.... THANKS..

All I know about Millis is they haul a lot of beer.

They have a lot of trailers at Miller breweries in Trenton, OH, Eden, NC and Milwaukee, WI.

Not sure of anything else they haul though, I heard they haul a lot of paper too.

I drove company for Roehl for about a year then went o/o with them. Like the company, but like most ya gotta hope for and cultivate a good relationship with your dispatcher/fleet manager. They do haul a lot of paper and are heavy midwest carrier. My personal experience was that they did their best to get you home when due. (i think they missed by a day or two once or twice). As for Millis, I have no direct knowledge of them but in this business sometimes the best thing that can be said about a company is that i've never heard anybody raise cane about them. My guess is you'd be okay with either. Talk to them each and see who gives the warm fuzzies, while bearing in mind that they all wanna tell ya what they think you wanna hear.
    good luck,

Roehl is a good training company. May not make a lot of money there but they teach you right.
I left there because they did not get me home. Live in PA. You should do better.

Why would or should I do better with getting home with Roehl because I live in Central Ohio, versus you in PA somewhere????

    Default Roehl

If you don't like pulling box, you may be able to go flat or curtain side without leaving the company. BOL

Not much freight comes to my area. Sometimes Roehl would have to send me home deadhead and deadhead out to my first load.

I also live in middle TN and have decided to go with Roehl. They have been straightforward with their answers to my questions and have not promised the moon. I think Millis would be good too, but the reason I went Roehl is due to their reputation. Their trucks are almost always wiaved through DOT stops with green lights. Also, most drivers that don't work fro them also say they're a great company.

I have done the research and no single company will always get you home on time with a load, but Roehl seems to do it more consistantly.
