Default Maverick to start pulling reefers

Just saw an ad in one of our local newspapers where Maverick is gonna start a new reefer and van division beginning in May. Comments anyone?

Maverick sucks. They can't even manage their flatbeds, now they want to go into an area of transportation they know nothing about? I am not surprised they are going into reefers and vans, I am shocked they didn't go bankrupt yet.

they must have gotten some customer who were used to Arrow's mismanagement and saw Maverick as an improvement (however slight).

I saw the sign hanging on the corporate fence in Galloway sunday and thought that it was odd.

    TC Division

On reflection it only seems appropriate, since PGT has been pulling reefers for several weeks now. I saw two new Cascadia condo PGT trucks sitting at the Petro in Marion IN a couple weeks ago, with reefers. Shoulda snatched a pic but didn't.

We've been doing reefers for a lot longer than that. That division is out of Champaign, IL and isn't what it appears.

They're hauling some special, temp controlled clay (or something like that) used in certain steel making processes...

Dang...we must be crossing paths a lot. I was in Marion a couple weeks ago on my way to Laredo. If you see PGT 09528 (ProStar) just yell for Hillbilly....the radio is always on. We'll have to grab a cup of coffee one of these days.

That's about the reaction I had when I saw F.L. Moore's Peterbilts hauling dry vans. I reckon they're doing what they have to in order to stay profitable.

Mavbots !!!! Now that's funny. If only poor Steve could find someone competent to run the company for him without driving it into the ground he could get back to his life's true ambition, becoming the governor of Arkansas.

Wouldn't surprise me. He can put the spin on things just like a politician. I can picture it now, Steve in his Darth Vader outfit with his maroon storm troopers surrounding the state.:rofl

    Nice truck = cheap pay
    Junk truck = better pay

After all someone has to pay for that nice truck. Thats how it seems with most jobs anyway.

I was wondering about Carolina Tank Lines also. However, what intrigued me about F.L. Moore was the hazmat loads they haul for Areva (uranium products). I would think that those loads pay decently.
