    Default Prime Today

I am thinking about going to Prime,I know a lot of negative things have been said about them, but that goes for most trucking companies.C. R. England is out naturaly.
Compared to Swift is Prime better or worse or???
J B Hunt and DeBoar are alsoon my list of companies to pursue.

Prime has alot of nice assorted colors of good trucks.. but a nice truck don't make you money.. but i know there Refrigerated guys stayed moving so as i was told by there guys but trucks are slow like 58mph.. plus you might have alot of competition with Arrow Drivers as they are out of the Midwest..

Pray for what???? Guy seems happy to me, rated them a 7 out of 10, that says quite a bit, and a weekly bonus of a 100 dollars added to an already pretty good paycheck. My company gives a 50 dollar revenue bonus at the end of the week, and I'm happy to be getting that. Some of you guys on here just have no clue how to be a happy with a company. But maybe I read it wrong, maybe you're praying for his continued happiness........

I see Prime trucks in the Wal-Mart DC here all of the time. Saw two new ones there last night. I'll walk over and ask them how it is going on the Refridge side for you.

a 7 out of 10 for a company that requires you to stay out 3 weeks at a time and only give you three days off, 58 mph trucks only if you go fast 63 they will raise hell.. and they let you know you can be replaced?? yeah i hope that is on a sliding 10 scale...

if you are happy there then you have hell of low standards.. that like me being happy with whoopi goldberg...

Someone on the OOIDA board said Prime was offering rides home for Arrow drivers.

All I'm saying is let a driver be happy wherever he or she might be, the original poster asked for information, and this guy currently drives for Prime and was just giving his two cents. Anytime someone gets on here and talks about staying out for 3 or 4 weeks at a time it seems like the bashing begins. Most of these companies advertise 1 day off for 7 out, that's basically the norm. I'm a local driver and would not choose to work that way, but at the same time don't feel the need to tell people I'm going to pray for them, or exclaiming that "these are the type of low standard drivers" that keep these "scumbag companies in business". But hey, to each his own, I guess I just see things in a different light, I'm the type that believes if you have a job right now and are somewhat happy with it, then that's something to be proud of.

If he's happy, great for him.. Personally i think he can do much better, Even with another OTR company, I think Prime is a RICH MANS C.R. England, but hey i'll leave it at that, i don't know nothing anyways...

would you rather these working people sit on the porch and live on s.s. or go out and work for a living? and no trucking will never be how it used to be. this is so much a dead subject.

I would rather nobody work for scumbag companys until they pay drivers what they are worth, OR maybe they will go out of business all together and a decent company will pick up the freight......... Maybe that is to much for you to understand. unfortuntly i agree that trucking will never be like it used to be. Is that because companys know that they can get desperate people to drive their trucks?????? People need to smarten up and shut cheap azz companys down.

This country was built on immigration, how does it cause low wages when we have a federal minimum wage law. Even with the people who are exempt from OT you still have a minimum that needs to be met. Jose crossing over the border legally or illegaly does not effect the trucking wage as they still have to meet some sort of standards to work a DOT Job.

Low wages come from greedy companies.
Low wages come from cheap companies.
Low wages come from people who are willing to do what ever it takes to support their family.

Most immigrants come to our country from third world countries and live quite well on the minimum pay scale as what they had before arriving in the land of opportunity is far less.
