Default Key Energy Services - oilfield company

They are hiring for their Bossier City and Joaquin yards. Any tank-yankers here have an opinion of them? Are they an "if you've seen one, you've seen them all" company?

I don't know what you are looking for, but that area is one of the few, where oilfield trucks remain busy. I see a lot of Key Vac tanks sitting all across this part of the country. They have closed down a lot of yards, and have a lot of rigs (drill rigs and trucks) sitting in Houston and Lafayette.

I don't have hazmat, so I think water hauling is my best bet. I get fingerprinted this week, though, so I'll get that endorsement soon enough. It's nice to hear that some trucks are still working. Thanks.

I see that Key also has openings for their Kilgore and Palestine yards. And, after living in ND for the past year, I know for a fact that drivers are in demand up there and in WY. With so much talk in the media about unemployment and poor economy and blah-blah-blah, it makes me wonder who's doing the complaining. There's plenty of jobs; people will just have to go to them, instead of waiting for the job to come to them.

That is the way it was during the last depression. People had to relocate to find jobs. Even after WWII many people moved to Michigan and Ohio from the south to find work.

Have you spoken with Key at all? They may well have not taken down their ads, which were placed last year, when they were busy. Key, Pride, Nabors, H & P, Grey Wolf...and plenty of others, have been stacking rigs and parking equipment fast, lately.

But you are right. If you decide to work in the oilfield...You are going to have to move to the job, to get the job.

I went to Key's Bossier City yard today. The lady there affirmed that are also hiring drivers in their east TX yards. They work twelve-hour shifts and pay $13.50/hr. I thought it'd be higher hourly pay, but she said guys gross about a thousand bucks a week.
