    Default Pay Cuts at Pride

Got a call yesterday from a friend at Pride Trucking. The other half of CR England. They were told the company was having some financial issues and all drivers were taking an immediate 2cpm pay cut. The non drivers were taking a 5-10% pay cut also.

They were told when the economy gets better they will get their 2cpm returned.

Good Tom. This can only mean that the wolves are nipping at the heels of that ragbag operation, CR England.

Pay cut? Geez. That's coolie carrier truck driving for ya! You heard it here first!

Then they'll be back up to 25CPM!

To be fair though Belpre, everyone is doing pay cuts no matter what industry their in. My wife got cut 5% and she does online banking. I've essentially seen a 5% pay cut because no OT is allowed anymore. I used to get a couple of hours all the time. If I have any OT time, I'm sent home early one day a week. To say that's coolie carrier trucking for you is BS. My place sure isn't a coolie carrier.

    Default Pay cuts ???

Why doesn't this surprise me...Shiny trucks and no money....Although I'm not WILD about the Linde Group (who is wild about any job nowadays ?) we did just get a very nice raise in our new 5 year contract. 2 bucks an hour first year, then 90 cents a year for the next four years, some sick/vacation pay increase and more in the pension. Still working around 55-60 hours a week, so I guess I should consider myself fortunate. The industrial/medical gas business is still fairly stable. Sick people are not going to go away, unfortunately. But boy, some of those hospital parking lots..........................

That's odd. Pay at the few companies I follow has been creeping up ever so slightly.

We don't get raises at all here at MBI. We used to get a bonus if we worked a full week , but that has been gone for a while and I don't see it coming back
