For what it's worth, expect to stay out atleast 3 weeks, equipment is nice and i want to say tarp pay is around 40 dollars. Most of what i'm going to tell you, or would think about telling you is all listed on their site, I work with a guy now in Tallahassee who worked with Melton prior to moving to Tally. He stayed 8 months i believe, but this was in late 07 early 08, before flatbeds took a severe hit, from what i can tell here in north florida, flatbed freight is scary, i've seen flatbeds, from various companies, mercer, melton, arrow sitting days at a time, upwards of 5 straight at the TA in Marianna Florida waiting for loads. Be careful making your move into flatbedding right now, but if you don't have a whole lot of concerns about hometime and running areas, from what i gather they would be a good fit. It's all in what you make of it.......

I've talked to a few Melton drivers recently and from what I keep hearing they spend a LOT of time sitting. I mean I know flatbed freight is slow but I'm flatbed too, and I don't sit that much. Steel has picked up quite a bit, for one. Other than that it's not a bad company. They are out of Tulsa, they have nice equipment, apu's, their drivers stay out for at least 3-4 weeks at a time and they run legal.
