the 10 day orientation for Watkins Shepard? I'm scheduled to be in Missoula MT and start orientation on Aug 12th. I just got my class A on Friday so I'm just looking for a heads up so I know what to expect. The company recruitor told me we will be going over co policies, log books, coupling/decoupling, pretrip inspection, skills test, lots of driving and teaching us how to go up and down 6-8% grades. The recruitor also mentioned that if I make it. to be prepared to run 3k+ miles a week and 10k+ miles a month. Out time is 3-4 weeks with one day home time for every week you're out. I spoke to one drive, unfortunately he just started 3 week prior. He said so far he's getting between 3100-3200 miles a week and its a big step up from Covennant who he drove for for 6 months. So far I havent read anything bad about WS so I'm satisfied with my first company choice. I'm single, no kids, and I just want to keep the wheels rolling and it sounds like I'll beable to do that with them

yes I am. The recruiter didnt mention anything about not hiring from CA. Have you tried Gordon? Been talkin to the Gordon recruiter the last couple of days and everything is looking good for a backup plan if WS falls through. Sorry the hear about your situation and best of luck.

Yeah, now they told me that for me to work for them I have to take a refresher course at a different school, or to work for swift or another one of the big carriers for at least 6 to 8 weeks (even though I just graduated 2 months ago) and finally that my school is not approved by them, so Idk what now, I have a useless piece of plastic in my wallet that cost the taxpayers 4,000$, but it's good that some guys are still finding jobs, again congratulations and be safe man, I'm not being sarcastic, LOL

I'm not hold my breath. Spoke to the recruiter today because I had to fax her my h-6, school cert, and med papers. Now she's telling me she might not have my application finished in time for the 12th. I'm filling out apps with everyone, I'll do my 6 months or so with Swift or Prime or somebody like that and move on. I'm single, no kids and my overhead is waaaaay low so I can do lower pay for that time. Trust me I dont want to go this route but to get to a better place it makes sense

That's good man, drop apps everywhere you can, If it works out with them, then good, if not then hopefully something else will pop up, I had the idea of going otr too, but then my gf told me she is knocked up( what timing, I tell you) so I might have to scratch that, but you, don't get no one pregnant, lol, don't need that hanging over your head.

From what I've been hearing from drivers this year if your going to get 3,000/week thats very good. Hope that works for you.

Good Luck on getting 3000+ a week anymore......if W/S is running dispatch like they did 10 years ago.....you'll deal with a different one every day. If Macon is still working as safety....even though he is from down south....don't offer him Opossum
