Default Mike Clark at www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com?

I've been looking for a trucking job for a while, and just recently received an e-mail from this man saying he found me through the stated website. The e-mail seems to be very good news (.40 cpm, home weekends, mostly midwest runs) and includes an attached application.

Problem is, the email originated from [email protected]. I tend to be wary of any purported employer using a public e-mail account like yahoo, so I was wondering if anybody else had heard of this guy or used the website, and therefore if it is trustworthy or a scam.

Sorry, but I had to edit out the web address, as it appears to be a competitor's site.

I took a look at the website though, and it appears to have been made by a novice. Did you actually submit an application with that site?

I would be very wary of it. I'm assuming that the person gave you a name of a trucking company. You can always search the trucking company at Safestat, and get contact information for them to find out if it is legitimate.

In any event, you should trust your gut.

Sounds like a lot of smoke being blown.
The whole thing smells fishy.
If you are looking for a trucking job, I would advise you to go through CAD. That's if it's all for real.

I have to agree. It sounds like a phishing scam to get your personal information. Any reputable company would have their own domain name and would use that domain name for e-mail. I would only apply directly on a company's website (and make sure it isn't some site posing as an authentic one.) Also, I would never submit my information except on an https:// url...meaning it is secure and it uses SSL. Or apply through a reputable site like this one.

Having seen the site in question (I wish I could have left it up for the rest of you to see, but I couldn't), it was seriously bad. I could have done a better job with 5 minutes of MS Paint.

 I can imagine.
I figured the website had to be bad, in order for you to edit. Eventhough, we would be interested in what it was, I know it was for our own good. The last thing I need is some crazy virus or something to whack out my laptop.
