I think TMC also makes you pay it out of pocket.

Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.
Roehl doesn't force its drivers to pay $1 a week for EZPASS, just let them know it and the unit will be turned off.
But the driver better be carrying enough cash to pay all the tolls, and be sure to keep and submit the reciepts for reimbursement. No reciepts, no reimbursement.
i would rather pay the $1 a week than stop every 10 miles on 294 and pay $4 or $5 bucks for every toll. what is there 6 or 7 toll booths. by pass the scales that have prepass or stop at scale. its your choice to pay the dollar or not. someone said roehl trucks where passing them those are o/ops not company drivers. o/ops arent governed.
Arguing on the C.B. is kinda like running in the Special Olympics, 'cause even if you win your still retarted.
STAY AWAY FROM ROEHL!!!!!
I worked for them for a year, and they are a horrible company!!! Especially if you are dispatched out of Gary, IN. My dispatcher NEVER answered his phone, or offered me any help. The company was totally disorginized, they sent me places and after getting there realized that they sent me to the wrong place, or the load wasnt ready for a day or two. I SAT A LOT!!! sometimes for DAYS in Florida and Maine. The company is CHEAP!!!!! They route you down crazy 2 lane roads just to avoid a couple tolls. The trucks are cheap, and they route you out of the way to get fuel. TRUST ME DONT DO IT!!!! I MADE THE MISTAKE.... LEARN FROM ME!!!! I cant believe that a company this badly managed is still in business!! The one good thing I can say about them is the school was OK... The trainers I had were great, but they were both I/Cs, so I never really knew how different it was to be a company driver. Im glad I work for a small company where Im respected. I made more money working as a bank teller than I did my year at Roehl. I have issues with this company. Look for a decent company.
I agree with Life. Roehl (ridiculously overbearing egotistical hardhat losers) looks good on the surface but once you are there you will find out they are sneaky. Keep your mouth shut and take their crap and they are happy. But if you dare to disagree with them or show your displeasure then you are in for it. They have been firing drivers for stupid little things. Load planners are clueless as are most of the DSR. I could go on and on but just know what you are getting into. All that glitters isn't gold.
I drove for Roehl for two, very long years and my experience with them culminated with me quitting. They lied to me, treated me like dirt and at the end I had to threaten to sue them and place a lien on one of thier trucks to get my $100 deposit back for equipment that I had turned in and had a signed document proving that I had turned it in.
I worked otr then 7/7. I made ok money but can't recommend this company.
Be very careful if you drive for them.
Kind of long but here goes. I went to Roehl in Atlanta in 07. I could not produce enough urine during the drug test the first time. The nurse who was there to administer the test wanted to leave so every 20 min or so they wanted me to try again. Each time just a little. If the would have left me alone I would have filled the cup up in an hour or so but they kept pressuring me to keep trying. During this time everyone involved was making jokes and laughing at me and no mention of a time limit. I have never had this problem before so I was ignorant of a time limit. After 3 hours or whatever it was the nurse left and I was given a bus ticket home.
That was Monday. I went to the beach on Thursday until the following Monday. When I came home I had a message on my answering machine from Roehl from Friday at 2:30 pm. It said I had until 4 pm to go to a doctor, they gave his name, address and phone number. It said this was to determine if it was a medical reason I could not go and if I failed to show at that appointment it would go on my record as a positive drug test. They had all week to tell me this but waited until an hour and a half before the appointment which by the way was 45 miles away from my house. Needless to say I did not show.
I called the lady in charge of human resources on Tuesday and explained all this to her. She said she would check it out and get back with me. She called back a few days later and apologized to me. She said that it was basically there fault and that it the drug test would not be on my record or even attending there orientation. I have pulled my dac a few times since and it has never been there. So long story short, they seem pretty fair and nice during my short dealings with them. I just wish they had mentioned the time limit back then and this could have been avoided..
Just to clarify, if you have a passport you do not need a fast card. A Fast Card IS a passport, but it is ONLY good for entry on LAND between mexico and canada, if you have a passport then it is a passport and good anywhere passports are accepted.

As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt.
