Yeah, I'm with you on the reimburse. I guess you know we are getting cut to 62mph. Not a big deal to me really. My electrical problem is a bad starter I'm sure or ignition switch. Probably have a bad battery also which if one has a short it will discharge the others. Sitting in the Petro off I70 in Oak Grove, Mo. waiting for a load. Brought up a load of stone block from Dallas (about 600 mi). They asked me to head to Joliet, Ill for an early am pickup but I told them I only had 3 hours left of my 14 and it was 500 mi to Joliet so they said never mind, they will get something out of KC in the am. Oh, I have to make sure I don't run my cooler when the truck is turned off. Drive safe

Everyonce in a while I turn the key and it doesn't do anything. When I release and retry, it starts. I think it something in the switch.

I received a call today while at the Ontario TA. It was telling me that my TWIC card was ready. I called into Arrow and they said it was cool for me to go get it. I headed home and jumped into my pickup and headed to Downtown San Diego. Back home tonight, watching a movie on the bigscreen with the wife and kid.

Did you have to go to San Diego to apply for it? Did Arrow say you needed it? What did you have to do to get it?

Another day of waiting. At 1600 hours I get a dispatch to pickup in Topeka, Ks. friday am and deliver Monday to BNSF in Memphis, Tn. A total of about 700 miles. Not much on the next paycheck either. The bad news is my wife got laid off her job today. She was the last employee left besides the owners who are good friends of ours. Hopefully the owners can keep the business going. They will hire her back immediately when things improve. They will also pay her cash to come in a couple days here and there. One thing they noticed is that companies who started ordering parts from China before, are now placing a few orders with this company. I think all companies should order from American companies. Obama should make it expensive to buy from overseas. Enough of the soapbox. At least I still have a job and hopefully miles will improve.

That's why your a rookie. We all started in your spot. I did retail for almost 25yrs and just got tired of it. I've had to learn too. I can remember when my trainer and I were cruising through the mountians in Montana and he yelled careful there's a bear..... I was looking for a Grizzly and he's talking about a cop. lol....

Hey DD, is it me...? I still miss Davis.... I saw a couple trucks in Ontario/Fontana. One was parked and as I was leaving the TA I saw one on a side street going under the 15

I was in the office and got to sit in on the conference call about TWIC for Arrow. My DM wanted me to be the contact for the regional guys and for me to be the first one through.

After about 4wks I have a TWIC card.

Arrow wants the drivers to get a TWIC since some of the customers have mentioned that they will be utilizing the TWIC ID to have us go onto their sites. The TWIC card is only for the ports but others are supposedly going to require from what Arrow says.

The card is ours so we can take if we quit Arrow and go to another company. If you have a HazMat endorsement then it should be a quick background check since it is the same process. One thing though... My HazMat is up in 2 yrs and the TWIC card has to be done every 5 yrs. You are given the option to run concurently with Hazmat and get a price break down to 105 and change but then it's only good for 2 yrs. I choose not run with my HazMat so I paid 132.50

As far as San Diego.... I figured not as many Port trucks there so maybe not as long of a line to wait to get into the office. I made an appointment online for the next day and was in/out in 15 minutes. You should pre-enroll online or you can use the toll free number. There is no big truck parking at some of the locations. San Diego location is in Downtown San Diego and you have a parking garage to park in. The garage has a height limit of something like 6 ft high. One of our drivers went to Terminal Island in Long Beach which has onsite parking. He did his about a week after me, so he should have his in a week or two... But then again it all depends on your background history. Make sure you bring the correct types of ID's that are listed on the site.

Go to TSA: Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for all the info.

I had two drops #1 at a Home Depot in Upland and then #2 in Culver City that was changed to Anahiem. I emptied and bounced back up to Ontario West TA. I scanned and waited for a load for a couple hours. After I spoke to my DM and Fontana office I drove home since there were no loads for me. I was told I'd get a load monday and head back to AZ.

He has a plan. Ruin the country and put it so far in debt that we will have to sell it to China. Then Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the Kennedy's can move to Taiwan and be the kings and queens of that island after China invades it and gives it to them as compensation for selling out their own country.

Can't wait 'til May when I get my first stimulus tax break so I can buy that happy meal I been saving up for.

Ahh the good ol days... I think that we'll have to deal with this administration for the next 4 yrs as best as we can. Since I'm in Cali I need to worry about what Arni and the republicans here are trying to do to us. There is a radio station in LA that is pushing for a revolt. There mantra is Revolt, Repeal and Recall the republicans since they made a backroom deal to raise our taxes here. They are also saying to send tea bags (Boston Tea Party) to Sacramento, but why not send it to Obama also.

I can only say.... I'd like to see everyone who moved here since 1960 till now be forced to move back to where they came from. Leave my state alone. That's all the people from different countries, and states. That would take out nearly all the kooks, everyone in Hollywood and probably all in goverment. All the hippies that came here because of Haight/Ashbury area of San Francisco would be gone too... I think Pelosi would be gone!

    All right.... enough of politics...

Hey JVND, Did you have to submit your mileage on QC this week? Have you heard any reason for this? A couple of us are thinking they are trying to figure out who to bring in first that are in need of PM's.

No I haven't heard why they wanted our mileage. Yeah the wife was upset but we are getting a very large tax return and I just got my vacation pay. Her company is also giving her a large sum of money plus they may call her to come in a couple days a week for cash. They will also still pay for her medical for at least 3 months or more if they can. The company is owned by a brother and sister. My wife and I went to school with the sister and we go boating, camping, and party with the brother. I just hope they can stay in business. I'm sitting in Memphis with 2 other drivers going to the same place. There are about 12 Arrow drivers here waiting to deliver Monday. Well yesterday was a sad day. I traded my boat for a sand toy. They say the two happiest days of owning a boat is when you but it, and when you sell it. Not so in my case. I had this boat custom built for me in 1978. It still turns heads today. Didn't want to sell it but it's a young man's boat and I can't get to the river like I used to. Spend more time in the desert now. It was a pretty good deal for me. I had my boat for sale for $5500 and the quad I got is valued at $10,000 and I got all brand new riding gear and $200 cash. The young man wanted to go boating more then the desert. Also got 3 sets of different tires with it. I quess you can say the day was bittersweet. My vacation pay is my average weekly pay for the year. I'm glad it hasn't been based on the last 2 months. Thanks for the info on TWIC dewercs2. Sorry I haven't called you yet. Getting old and forget sometimes. Drive safe all.

our company has picked up at least 3 or more accounts from arrow in the last month alone in the houston area.partly due to getting the head o/op guy at arrow and him bringing all or most of the o/op's out of tx with him,and quite a few acct's also.one place i piicked up on mon was a place that sandblast's and paints process piping and arrow was the main hauler out of there for years, not no more. i asked the shipper about and they said arrow was alway's late on del times, and their trls were total JUNK and wouldn't even load some of them.the writing is on the wall, and for your's and your family's sake i hope you have a plan b and don't get blindsided.good luck to all at arrow,ya'll need it...
