Snow is not too bad. Just slow down. Ice? I dont drive on it. Nothing is worth your life and a busted up truck.

    Yep, just slow down.
If you are not comfortable with conditions........Park the truck!

chained up twice thursday and go 40-50 mph the last 3 days. seen lots of cell phone talkers in the median and fender benders. only 3 big trucks involved tho. cant shut down when mills are running. sounds like many big companies will shut down for 30 days at xmas. better get as much loads as possible before the big depression

Snow and ice not so bad. Especially the colder it gets. It is the darn traffic that screws things up. When it gets really cold, the snow and ice are like driving on regular pavement. We had no problem running like is was a summer day on snow and ice in Alaska. But down here, you get people from all areas of the country driving around you and such a speed differential going on that you have no choice but to slow down to keep from getting in a mess. Add to that, the temps are a little more closer to the freezing zone a lot of times and the stuff gets pretty slick.

Oh well.... nature of the beast! Just one more thing we all have to deal with in the Wonderful World of Trucking!

If it needs chains, it needs parking.

I LOVE the bad weather...The trouble lies in these fools that can put on chains, but still can't drive.

Snow isn't all that bad. Just have to be more cautious, depending on how much, and how bad it's sticking.
Ice on the other hand, that's all we get. Amarillo, Lubbock, and most of the panhandle get good dry snow, and we get all the junk. Ice, sleet, mix stuff. Has something to do with the Red River, or climate, or something.
I don't like ice at all. We have a lot of black ice. I hate that stuff.

Ice is the funnest to drive on. I like going out with an empty box and hammering as hard as I can and turning the wheel from side to side to make my truck like a big whip. If I end up in the ditch who cares, it was all fun and games.

I think you need to call your safety director, and have him schedule you for a random CAT Scan.

Thanks for saying it! I just discovered I suffer from "WID"-Winter Incontinence Disorder:
That's when you get so scared from the "whip effect" of the trailer on that last patch of black ice that you "tinkle" in your seat!!
They're not "hot flashes"...they're POWER SURGES!
