Meanwhile, back at the ranch, newer drivers are raking in a whopping 25 cents/mile......

That's why I tell new drivers not to touch Werner with a 10ft pole if they have options ,because their pay scale has not been updated sine 1975 ,and they always say if we made better profits maybe they would raise the CPM...(yeah right)...why raise base CPM when you have new drivers willing to work for free ? Hell If you train at Werner and your not on a cushy dedicated account you lose.02 cpm from your pay ...most companies give extra to train ,but Werner takes away ,and it takes 10yrs to reach .35 CPM so a tranier with 2-3 yrs in making .30-.31 cpm drops to .28-.29 as a trainer ... But yet there is enough profit to spread $1 million amongst 4 top executives ...But yet they need to cut .02 cpm from driver/trainers pay...TOP NOTCH BOTTOM FEEDERS RIGHT THERE...LOL

Why should they pay more when people take the jobs being offered?

DH ON 48/CAN is same as loaded ...Pay is .29 at 12 mos, .30 at 24 mos .31 at 36 mos, .32 at 48 mos ...and about 1/2 cent for 6 more glorious years until reaching .35 cpm...that's 10 yrs to reach .35 on 48 state .

Regional loaded pay is much worse ...like .21-.23 cpm base for trips at 500 mi ,and it tops out at like .30cpm in just about a decade....And DEAD HEAD IS ONLY .15 CPM ...that's right .15 cents ...OUCH .

I am running with one of our owner operators who got his first driving job at Werner. He said it was the only place who would hire him straight out of school but the job was just awful.
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.
