Passmore goes down

A Passmore&Sons will be shutting down on 10/31/2008. Just a few short years ago trucking seemed to offer job stability, now it seems a driver could be out of a job at any given time. I wonder how long its gonna be before all the Driver Training Schools will be out of business too, since the driver shortage oughta be gone due to all the out of work drivers

Yep....That's been happening over the past couple of months.......Prime bought ot Passmore 2 years ago and brought the owner in as a VP,agreeing he'd run Passmore almost autonomously for 2 years,at which time the Passmore name would change to Prime......I was at Prime,for a short time,(I know,stupid move),and the talk was all over the main terminal....

Have been seeing some long hood Petes around Springfield with the Prime logo on them pulling flats.

I have been seeing them running through East Tx with the Prime on the door for a little over a month now. Still red letters, just no more passmore.

good point, my company went down also as of 9.19.08 with one days notice to all of us. and they cut our med/dent as of 07/31/08 but did not tell us and kept taking the money out of our checks!

Same here. I see them all the time (Altus is an hour and a half from here)
Not only do ya see that ugly Prime sticker, they also turned down them big black Petes.

Turned them down to what??......Passmore trucks only ran 67 MPH when I was in a 63 MPH Prime POS...

I talked to a Passmore driver a while back. He passed me on HWY 82, which is a 2-Lane. It took him the longest time to get around me. (our trucks run 62mph) I asked him if he was having trouble with his truck. (Passmore Petes used to blow my doors off when our trucks ran 68mph) He said that they turned it down to 64mph after Prime came in, and cleaned house. Among other things that has changed, and he was told everything was going to stay the same. He said that he was going to TMC, as soon as they get done processing his app, etc.

Yeah,their lease trucks went faster than 67.....I wanna say the leasers ran 76,but I'm not positive......I was talking about the company trucks.......

Oh, man! That sucks bad. Is there any talk of reimbursement over that? I would be so pissed. Because, now you are nearly out 90 days already so any new insurance might have a pre-existing clause now. That makes me angry!

I have noticed quite a large amout of trucks sitting in Tontitown @ the main office the last times thru. I go by about once a month, seems I would notice more sitting than usual.
