Filed for bankruptcy.
Hauling "Recession Proof Freight" has apparently not been good.
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.
As heard over and over and over again on the Midnight Advertising . . . errrrr . . . Midnight Radio Network:
"At Great Wide you know, we've got a one-track miiiiiiiiiiind . . . get 'em rollin', get 'em home, get 'em paid"![]()
One less company blowin' my doors off and cutting me off.
Yes they haul for Wal-mart. They have a huge account at the Pauls Valley, Ok DC. They also have a huge account in OKC for another grocery warehouse, I think it is AWG.
Great Wide owns several other companies. I am not sure if the bankruptcy involves all of their subsidiaries or not. I received a call from a friend of mine the day after they filed. Ironically, he called me about Cargo Masters, which is one of their subsidiaries. This is a billion dollar company. I doubt that they are going to go out of business all together. It is my understanding that an investor group has taken them over. I am not sure whether they plan on taking over the company or selling off their assets. Some companies will file for bankruptcy protection right before selling to an investor so that any claims can be filed and the buyer knows what they are getting. They may also get the company for less since some creditors may not be paid. It depends on the trustee and bankruptcy judge.

financial restructuring, not quite sure they bit the dust.
curious what will be the fate of Dallas Mavis since they are suing my uncle for the $100,000 he stole from them not too long ago...
"Re structuring" of a company normally means they take it and break it out into all it's pieces. The ones that maybe made some profit and don't owe to much they can sell off to other companies the rest, that lost money and owe $$$$$$$t they put into chapter 13, full bankruptcy, and everyone gets the shaft.
If a court determins your uncle "stole" the $$$$ (Can be bankruptsey or criminal court) he will still owe it and either one will come after it.
Dallas Mavis was another well respected good company that got sucked up by a bottom feeder just like Inway by Landstar![]()

in the last days of our family company, he leased our trucks to Greatwide/DM (that's what the door decals said) and started putting loads in the computer, collecting advances, pocketing the advances, then not hauling the loads. believe me, they want their money.
I got to know their safety director quite well, they were a decent company in my short time dealing with them.
If I am reading right what you are saying you need to quit posting !!!!!!!!!!! Things posted on the internet can be used in court as "Open to the pubic" You are saying he he took the advaces then didn't haul the loads. He is in deep sh11t. Get an attorney and don't post anymore till he sees your posts. A good prosuicuter will hang him if you keep doing this !!!!!
Not to get off topic...but in reading the above
it has dawned upon me...
that alot of people do go at it as if they were downright immortal..
ALot of enthusiasm amongst the merchants of the world
.... quite funny
The sooner that the shutters, padlocks and chains are applied to that jackhole operation, the better. Great Wide serves as a perfect example of what is wrong with this industry.
So long bottom feeder, cut rate coolie carrier!! The world is a better place without you!![]()
"Just another OTR coolie carrier. They suck. They ALL suck. Run away from coolie OTR trucking" The Great ColdFrostyMug
belpre, tell us all how you really feel.
Keep on rockin'
Doubt it.
I first saw this thread early this week....I still see Great Wide trucks on the road, mostly down in Texas,as recently as yesterday.....Wednesday,I parked next to one at the Hook in San Antonio, and asked the driver about it......He said it was news to him........
Filing does not mean they are going out of business ...
