Anyone have info on this company? They are hdqrted in the Rockwall/Royce City, Tx, area. Rumor has it they have purchased land in Terrell, Tx, and are preparing to build a huge terminal there. Helwig driver also sez they're buying new equipment buy the gross. Any info other than speculation like this would be appreciated.

I characterized them as 'new' because after the buy-out, they weren't a trucking company. I'm curious about their operation now. :?

The new James Helwig company is now J.S. Helwig & Son, LLC located in Terrell, TX, 15 miles south of Rockwall, TX. Mr. Helwig re-opened in 2007 and he is going strong. The company fleet is same as in 2005, 170, when he sold the original company. We maintain the same standards for drivers as before. Claim $.40/mi but they use hhg route calculation which pays 6-10% LESS than actual miles. Actual miles 3000, paid 2740 @ 8% reduction. U give company first 240 mi/4 hrs each week!!! Elogs and safety regs by the book strict. Lot of Stevens mgmt. Not driver friendly like before. All about the money now!!!

I never understood why some drivers are foolish enough to give away free time/miles every week.
