I saw both a Condo unit and a Mid-roof unit at DATS.......I want one! Maybe Charcoal with Blue trim! My test drive appointment is for February 23 in Houston.

That was the soonest drive date they had. No you can't just drop in to a dealership right now and take a drive.

With a 600hp ITH engine, a 13 speed roadranger, 373 rears, 22.5 tall rubber, a 77 inch sleeper(53 inch bunk) and two-tone paint, the price was at $134,000. The premium spec truck comes with a 17 inch LCD screen, DVD player, Bose sound system, laptop power modual, refridge, microwave and PowerMaxx apu.

Incase you didn't know everyone is pretty much producing their own engine. Cat is dropping out the Class 8 truck engine market in 2010 due to not being able to pass emissions or something. But they are supposedly teaming up with International to make a truck or engine, I don't know much about it. Here is the breakdown of manufactures and engines.

Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling....Detroit, they are dropping the Mercedes brand engines and the DD13 Detroit is replacing it.

Peterbilt, Kenworth.....Cummins, Cat, and PACCAR brand engine

    Volvo....Cummins and Volvo

    Mack....Mack/Volvo combination

    International....Cummins and Maxxforce

My company runs mostly Internationals and I told one of the owners that if they want someone to test drive one for a week.....I'm their man. We had one of the new petes last year for a week and the driver that ran it, hated it.

387 or 86....whatever that abomination is they just started making......the older petes I like. Course Buck(the driver that had it) has always hated petes. I will admit....he looked good with that lump oveer his eye when he forgot to duck going into the sleeper

PACCAR has actually made their own motors for some time, for the DAF (Holland) brand of trucks.
