    Default Who's haulin' Fuel??

I pull tankers for a smallish Co. here in Tampa.
Looking to make a move sooner or laterish to a better paying Co. and move to a new state.
I was just musing, who on the board is also dragging around gas fumes for 1/2 the trip?
Not to be separatist or anything.
Mainly just to satisfy my intrest and who to direct specific questions to should they arise.

Ah hell 1203! These guys know that Belpre would never engage in any activity that would involve hard feelings!

Me first. I work mostly Central Indiana for a petroleum company out of Michigan. We haul the majority to company owned stations, but also deliver to some dealers and a small amount of commercial work (pump offs).

Phillips 66, Citgo, Marathon and BP are our branded stations. We have a few unbranded and will load those stations price accordingly.

I haul on average 3-4 loads a night, and am usually out no longer than 10 hours/5 nights a week. We trade in our tractors at 350,000 miles for new ones. Nice huh? Our maintenance is done by Marathon Petroleum, which is also where we park our trucks at Speedway, IN.

BTW, my company just purchased 23 BPs in NW Indiana. We took them over yesterday. Wanna go to Chicago 1203?

Here is a pic of the Belpre special!:

Reno, Nevada: Just recently left Savage Transport. Hauled fuel from Chevron/Richmond, CA. and Reno area tank farms to T/A's Pilots (some-not all) jet to local airports etc. Pay was very decent, good working conditions, winters on Donner Summit can be a "thrill"....Left for better healthcare benefits since my retirement package from UPS doesn't cover my spouse. Pay in the Eastern Oregon, Idaho area can be somewhat low as jobs are pretty scarce. Good luck (I currently haul cryogenic tankers for Linde)

    Hey 1203,
I just got lucky and pulled a few loads out of the Tampa port this past week, talk about an experience as I am only 2 months old in this career of fuel pulling and am used to the Kinder Morgan Central Florida Pipeline in Orlando all the racks are easy to use and get to all in one central location. The Tampa Port was an experience I pulled out of the Kinder Morgan Exxon Mobil Rack and the Murphy rack this past Monday. It seems that Orlando was short on allocation due to the hurricanes so we were sent to Tampa. Had to wait on other FRTL drivers to get us loaded as most of us Orlando drivers are not carded for Tampa,(only carded at Orlando and Port canaveral) all in all it was a good experience and I have added it to my memory bank for next time..
I love this job it is so much better then working LTL. 5 stops a day as opposed to 20+ for the same amount of cash and relativly the same hours. Plus at my old UPS Frieght yard they have now laid off 10 workers which would have put me right at the bottom and one of the next to go..... got out just in time...

Sorry to be getting back so late.
I had one of "those" weeks.
    Nice to meetch ya'll.

    Nice deal, Belpre!
    but Chi-town??
    I dunno.........

We do Mobil, some Nonbranded and just took on another account that load mainly out of Chevron.

Lucky enough, or unlucky, depending on how you look at it, we are carded at almost everywhere.
Kinder Morgan, Citgo, Motiva, Murphy, Trans Montaingne, Marathon..uh..I think thats it.

Ok, feederfred, I'll take E. Oregon and Idaho off the list.
    Some damn pretty country though.

I'm with you Timberwolf, it is better than LTL, in my opinion, no flames LTL guys, Just watch your hookups at the racktotrailer and trailertoground and everything else takes care of itself!!
(it's that the Taft area the Pipeline is at? Never been there.)
    GRAVITY ROCKS!!

    Funny story abt that.
I was unloading at a station that quit pumping while the unloading was going on and a man, obviously in a rush, asked me if I could hurry up a little.
I said, "Sir, if you can influence gravity I would sure enjoy a 10ft vertical leap and maybe a little help at the scale."
    He was none to amused.
    And still in a rush.
