    Default Petroleum info??

I've been driving for 5 years and pulling tanks for the last 3.
Last Nov. I switched from chemicals to fuel and have been enjoying my job. Better pay and all the fumes I can suck in.
    Here's the question.
I'm looking to relocate and would like to stay with the fuel.
I've used the search function on this site already and haven't found an answer.
I've spoke with all the major haulers from this area and know the pay scales/ load pays for each. What I'm wondering is if anyone knows a website or such I can find the pay for different parts of the country??
Also, how I would go about finding other haulers in an area besides calling stations around the country and asking them who brings them their fuel.
    Thanks for any help/info.
I've been lurking around for awhile and finally decided to log in as a member.
Great board with alot of info.
    Thanks.

Good question! I have never seen any info like that. I know that the Career Builder site has median incomes for different areas/occupations. www.careerbuilder.com. That is pretty broad information though. I think you are looking for more specific info?

Next to that. Have you considered putting the location in question on here, even on this thread? There are folks from all over on this board.

Welcome! Always nice to have another fuel hauler onboard!

this isn't exactly what you want, but it will give you some companies names and addresses all over the country. transload directory

to make your search of that site easier, look for the letter h in the directory code. using firefox, then highlight the company name, right click and choose the "search google".... and if the co. has a website it should come up.

    That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.
    Thank you guys very much.
As far as where....I don't know.
I been in FL. too long (30+ years) and want a change of scenery.
Thinking either out west or the carolinas.

    How does that song go,
    "Heads California tails Carolina"

Looking around at cost of living/pay/outdoor activities.

I really don't want to get away from the Gulf or the Atlantic I love to kayak and fish.
But, some mountains or Plains would be nice to see out my window.
Not to mention the change of seasons.
    Florida has 2.
HOT and RAINY usually at the same time.

    Thanks again.

    p.s.
I wonder how many gas jockeys there are on this board??

I'm not really sure 1203. There are quite a few that have hauled fuel in the past and are doing different things now. As far as regular posters, I would have to say around 10-15 that I can think of. Adding +1 now that you have joined us!

Good luck on the anticipated move. When you have your sights on a particular area, be sure to post it. Between the active and former fuel haulers on here, I'm sure that somebody will have some good information for you. Truck drivers are generally not hesitant to share their vast knowledge.

    BTW, California sure sounds nice!

If you're interested in North carolina, Greensboro wouldn't be a bad choice. Three hours to the beach, three hours to the mountains, and a rather large tank farm by the airport.

Thanks belpre122, I'll be sure to do that.
    CALIFORNIA!?!?!?
Man, I'm trying to get away from the crowds and expensive livin'!!
    LoL!
    Idaho might be nice.
Mountains and flat land, a bit far from the NaCl H20 though.

    Greensboro N.C.
3 hours to the mountains? Seems like awhile for N.C.
But, I'm just going from memories from vacations long past.
    Sounds appealing though, Mudpuddle.

Any Idea about some companies. that haul outta that big ole tank farm?
    or pay?
Time to climb back on my search engine.

    Thanks for the ideas, Friends.
    I'll be back.

    p.s.
Do you think it would be wrong to start a new thread with something like "who's haulin gas" or " looking for gas hauling pay rates around the country". Don't want to offend anyone.

Not at all. Pull 'em out of the wood work, so to speak.
