    Default Good companies for experience

What quality companies are top notch for a year and half experience? I'm looking at moving 2 the next rung of pay and treatment.
    Tankers? Van? Reefer? etc.

If you want the next rung I have to say its going to be a local gig. I work in the LTL world. I work my tail off, but man is the money good. I did not make this much OTR.

Reefers, Tankers or whatever. You have to figure out what you want to do and then go for it. When I was looking for local work I did the Sysco thing. Not for me!!!!!!!!

I talked to a gas carrier. They wanted to pay me $14 per hour to start and work 3rd shift for the most part. After I laughed at him during the interview I said thanks but I will keep looking. I talked to another gas carrier here in the area. It was all late work, but, It was teamsters, benefits paid in full by the company, and the money rocked. If it wasnt late nights most of the time, I probably would be hauling gas.

So here I am at UPS Freight. Typical driving job for the most part. You bump docks most of the time and someone off loads you. There is the share of food warehouses where you have to sort and segregate but its no 24 skids. Its usually 1-5 here in my world. Some house deliveries. I am home everynight. I get weekends off. I will probably hang for a while here.

So B4 you jump to another job make sure you know what you are getting into and its what you want to do. I personally would not haul a reefer. Tanker, well maybe, the surge i am not down with, but I could work with it. Do your research!!!!!!!! I think you will find local is way better than OTR.

    Thats my opinion!!!

I would find something I enjoyed and go for it. Most of us excel at things we enjoy.
