Default Central Refrigerated, Werner, or USA Truck

Werner has three divisions you could try without leaving the company. BOL

yeah im seriously thinking about going with "the big blue screw" simply because of the choice of divisions and nothing else. I already know the pay is crappy, and you have to wait for loads sumtimes and they have sub par equipment but i'm just going to have to tough it out and deal with it, because i really don't have too many choices........what about usa truck don't they offer regional?

I read a post on another board that said a guy was getting great miles but wasn't getting a lot of hometime. I think they may have regional but im not sure.

usa will be getting an application from me through I want to have the pick of the litter when I get out of school

yeah i kinda agree with that guy, i was leaning toward usa until i called and talked to the recruiter and asked her what kind of driving opportunities they had after i did 3 or 5 months otr and she said "nothing u will still be an otr driver" That kinda made me think twice about usa. I dont have the right to be picky, but i do have 3 companies to chose from so i have a couple of options.

Stay very far away from Central Refrigerated

I worked there as a lease-purchase operator and regretted my decision to this day. Read other's posts here and other sites--- you will find the same: Company cares about nothing more than itself- no matter how long you have worked there.

Their LP program is a complete joke: truck will eventually get repossessed and you will end up in debt. One of my best friends has been a LP driver there since 2000 and he is FINALLY tired of their crap.

Company drivers there get crapped on daily.....

I left after 2 years of empty promises.

Some weeks I made nothing after running over 2300 miles. The company WILL allow you to make nothing- as long as you deliver their freight and pay THEIR truck payment.

Central will also lie through their teeth to get you into orientation....Maybe the recruiters get commission for filling seats......I talked to them a while back, wanting to go back OTR....They told me several times over the phone and in e-mails that I'd start at 32CPM and could run the 11 western regional.....By lunch time, day 1 of orientation, they'd told me 29 CPM and all 48 states,no regional.....Before lunch was over I'd hit the motel, packed my pickup truck and was on the way back to Colorado......

Glad to hear you came to your senses and high-tailed it out of there. Best decision you ever made.

The thing that gets me is: I see several morons who lease brand new trucks from them daily.....if they only knew, or could know, just unhappy their lives will be once they don't make a paycheck for delivering freight as the company profits just fine.

I swear Central Refrigerated is evil for drivers.

don't know anything personally about the other 2. Werner on the other hand ----

I would recommend staying away from Werner. Lousy miles, lousy pay, Lousy equipment, Nasty Attitude people.

But, you might want to find out who will accept you and then ask the question, who would you recommend from that list.
