Default Tyson may be a different solution

I have decided to try a new option and about a month ago I started driving with Tyson. It has been great. I am making good miles and I haul the company's products. Tyson is more than chicken. We have chicken, pork, and beef. I don't have to ask to go home it is already taken care of. They have good equipment and we can go the speed limit. They are putting apu's on their trucks. You are a person and not a number. :moose: :moose: :moose: :moose:

Thats great you are having a good move over at Tyson.

On the other side... I gave a ride to a 60-something year old livestock hauler one day from the truckstop to an exit 100 miles down the road to where his family was (truck blew a motor). He had his own authority and said the only load he'd hauled in the last 5 year that he was stiffed on payment was from Tyson

I am disappointed in their stance with the muslims at the shelbyville location and will let tyson know on Monday how I feel about their stand especially how it looks compared to their website promoting faith. I still feel like it is a good company. They have treated me good and I do not mind wearing the Tyson uniform.

Ok, i lived in Shelbyville for a few years and still live just 2 towns over...I knew the Somali's were moving in at a ridiculous rate when i was there but this is just getting crazy, prayer rooms at work, changing holliday schedules to cater to them. Its just getting crazy and Tyson is seriously doing major damage to that town, it started with the Illegal mexicans and now its the Somali's. When i was living there the apartment complex I was living in was slowly being completely filled and taken over by the Somali people and now they are taking over and dictating business on a local level. Its just amazing what this country is allowing to happen to itself.

there's nothing more pathetic than people who are more interested in creating long term problems for a short term achievement.

my dad used as a poultry inspector at butterball. then foster farms bought out butterball. the standards then dropped big time. they were letting ones through that shouldn't have. such as ones with feathers still in their skin, sometimes one with its head was going along the line, birds that were so far bruised, and so many other things.

the only exciting thing was watching the birds being brought in and put through the kill line.

I agree , it's gotten completely out of hand . Big Corporations and big government cater to this individuals from these third world countries thus the reason why they keep showing up .

i fail to understand why you're disappointed with their
stance with the muslims at the shelbyville location.
as i read the wnd article, by allowing the devout muslims have time and a place for their daily prayer, they are helping them to practice their faith, which is one of tyson's core values. the same with letting them have the last day of ramadan off instead of labor day.

what i would dearly like to know, and neither the wnd article, nor the rwdsu website states, is how many of the 1200 workers are muslim? and was a vote taken to make those conditions a priority in the negotiations?

How does this move offend their commitment to honoring faith? Muslims worship God in their own way, but there is nothing "anti-American" about following a religion other than Christianity. Or, for that matter, no religion at all. Personally, I'm much more offended that they're importing Somalis to do work that Americans could be doing just as well -- at a higher wage.

Unfortunately is a real union there Fred. My eldest brother deals with some of their members each and every day. He is a grocery manager at an Atlanta area Krogers...and sees some pretty sorry work related activity from some of those members.

the reason for the disappointment is we have a floating holiday in which this could be taken care of instead of using an established holiday but I have noticed because of the pressure they have reinstated labor day and are using the floating holiday http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/...-Labor-Day.php
