Not necessarily a bad thing.... This will help tighten capacity and help raise rates. 8)

The Owner-Ops were the first casualties, although I hear you can still do good if you are with a company that pays all of the surcharge to the driver who is the only one who deserves to get it.

I know that the surviving companies are picking up the slack, that's good for business.

I like being able to get a shower at a Pilot without the 2 hour wait. I've had a shower inside of my 15 minute fueling. (parked in a spot)

I REALLY want my own truck though. Prices have come down, but affording to run one is something I'm not confident about.

Our fuel crisis is a created crisis. We need to increase our local supply. We don't have much of a chance regardless of who gets elected. What if McCain follows the path of starting a fight with Russia? Where will fuel prices and our livelyhood go then? www.infowars.com

Now what ONE COTTIN PICKUN MINUTE! Do you have proof you parked in a parking spot?? Are you certain you didn't park on the outter lane....or right at the pump when you were showering????

I think a 15 minute shower wait at Pilot is a URBAN legend!!!

    Geez Stan, chill out!!

Remember, we're talking about an OTR driver's definition of a shower.

    1. Splash water in face.
    2. Then straight back out to the goat pen wearing same yellow-to-front-brown-to-rear gear that he promised to change out of last month.

What's so hard to believe about that? :P :P :P

You know, it's getting old Belpre. You've moved past the disdain for OTR driving (which is fine) and into personal insults (which is not). Kindly back it off.

Thanks for understanding. You may now return to your regularly scheduled "OTR Disdain."

Now would you hire somebody with 143 days of experience in anything to run your company, much less the the WHOLE United States of America. That is how many days he has put in in the Senate. He has been a Senator for 3yrs but has just been actually at the Senate building for votes and such for 143 days. Before that he was a community activist or leader or whatever you call it, in Chicago. If there is something else I'm willing to listen. By the way I'm not a huge McCain fan either, but in my humble opinion, he beats the heck out of the alternative.
Did you hear how he got to the state senate? He pulled all the paperwork on all the other candidates and found out where they didn't cross an I or dot a T (I know its bass-ackwards) and challenged their apps for eligibility in court until his name was the only one on the ballot. That's the Chicago 'Daily' political machine in action. And now he's trying to buy his way into the White House....God help us if he's elected. With his friends, and his economic plans, we won't be in a deep recession, we'll be in a depression.
