...with fuel prices approaching $5/gal? I hear their ads all day long on XM radio. They sound like liars.

What have they lied about ?

I do not have XM radio

Are JB's adds misleading in some way ?

...are they trying to take advantage of people ?

    I am curious

JB is one company that has never crossed my mind as far as employment

goes...same with Schnieder,Swift,etc...they are just too big.

I see the giants of trucking as a kind of void.

Like a black hole as it were

I have Sirius and they don't advertise on there. I do hear plenty of Schneider, Roehl, USF, Arrow, and CFI commercials... Oh yeah, and my favorite, Trans AM "with the best lease purchase in the industry!".

Was talking to a driver, he said with the fuel surcharge his OOP is $1.05 gallon. Of course you gotta file the paperwork.

"He knew who I was, at that time, because I had a reputation as a writer. I knew he was part of the Bush dynasty. But he was nothing, he offered nothing, and he promised nothing. He had no humor. He was insignificant in every way and consequently I didn't pay much attention to him. But when he passed out in my bathtub, then I noticed him. I'd been in another room, talking to the bright people. I had to have him taken away." -on meeting George W Bush at Thompson's Super Bowl party in Houston in 1974
