    Default WH Transport

I just read an article that said WH Transport was laying off a bunch of people and that it would no longer carry van freight after July of this year. They will move to hauling building materials for sister companies and flatbed loads for other companies. Is anybody on this board affected by these layoffs?

Melton sent me an e-mail (bulk email...not a personalized one) asking me to apply there for a driver position. It still seems like companies are looking for drivers while others are closing (Jevic) or downsizing (like WH). Still others have rumors flying around that they are in bankruptcy. What's happening in the industry?? :?: :?: :?:
Trying to keep a positive attitude......

All the usual stuff in an economic downturn: layoffs, mergers, closing shop...etc.

The economy does show signs of turning around (the worst may be behind us). However, if fuel costs stay the same (and even increase) in the coming months/years, that will effect the bottom line for everyone--even if they are not in the transportation industry.
