    no i went in as a Entry Level. Theres expierenced and entry level, and they still did that to me. i dont know who that david person is but i dont like any of them people trufhully

    What people are trying to tell you, is that you should have communicated with the people at the orientation. Do not rely on recruiters to do this. Do it yourself. From your posts you are trying to pin everything that happened on Arrtow and take no responsibility for what happened on yourself.

    You are still trying to win the argument that Arrow is a horrible company that did you wrong. Most of the people that are responding are trying to tell you that you did not communicate with the company.

    I don't know why but all of this is making me think of the 4 'C"s. In flying there are 4 "C"s for dealing with an emergency 1) Climb 2) Communicate 3) Confess and 4) Comply.

    yea thats true, but in all reality whomever does not believe me that arrow is pretty horrible, go apply and go there and take a look for yourself.

    Arrow gives all drivers in orientation 2 driving tests and 2 backing tests when I went through. They have a lot of people to test and only a few days to do it. You may get one the first day and one the next, or both at the last minute. Like the other guys are saying, when they show you how to set the mirrors, that is only to help you out. They are only trying to show you something you may not learn at most other places.

    What my point is, they treated you just like everyone else and don't be upset, just keep your head up and re apply at other companies...

    Now if they didn't pay you for your time in orientation, that IS a load of bs.

    Maybe you should have said that you want to be a lease purchase operator. one guy in my orientation did not stop at the stop sign and failed the driving test. They sent him out with a local driver for a day :twisted: (he had a year+ exp, but had not driven a truck in about 6 months), and let him sign his soul away...lol...put him in a newer KW T600.

    I did. I got in with a warning on the road test (took a corner too fast) and drove for them from a little over 5 months.

    Arrow isn't really bad as far as driving, the safety dept is pretty good and I saw little wrong with the orientation aside from the run down motel. It had wireless, free breakfast, and nobody tried to rob me while I was there so it was ok.

    The big problem with Arrow actually starts just beyond your driver manager. I mean Fontana dispatch is great, Laredo is ok, Tulsa can only be bothered to answer the phone about half the time, and Ohio is like that scene out of Monty Python of the knights dancing around Camelot like a bunch of retards. They can't even spell for god's sake.

    I dunno what happened with you, but there's a couple hypersensitive trainer guys in the orientation that you probably offended without realizing it. I wouldn't class Arrow as a bad company overall based only on that. People can survive there and make decent money until they can get on with a better company.

    The president is a retard though, he'll ruin the entire company on his own.

    Arrow's problem is logistics. I was there for eight months and was fortunate enough to get an outstanding trainer. I learned much from him and the securement class is still serving me well. Problem was, the right hand never knew what the left was doing. I'd wait hours for my next load, only to have to deadhead 4-5 hours for a delivery the next day. Don't think I ran a legal day the entire time I was there. That was my choice, but the defacto policy was that the guys who ran hard got the better loads, if there were any loads to give.

    As was said before, not the worst, but a guy with a good attitude and a clean record can do much better.

    I think I am going to try and contact Arrow. I have some things in my background that is killing all the available opportunities out there also.
    However. I am a good driver. can provide contact info from the school to prove it. I am 40 years old and made some bad decisions and paid for them. however i do not think i should get a life sentence and be banned for a bad decision when it had nothing to do with the industry or involved the industry what so ever.

    I have filed out and talked to several companies only to have the door closed for one thing or another. with lack of skill not being one of them.
    I have a lot of heavy equipment experience also so i would really like a job in the flat bed area. hauling equipment and other freight to construction sites would be 2nd nature to me. I been on the receiving end for years. shouldn't be too difficult to transition to the delivery side of it.

    yea try it out. you may like it, it just wasn't my cup of tea..there training for load securement is nice...that's all i really liked out of it, maybe you'll like it. they put you in a decent hotel, and the shuttle bus will take you to walmart every so couple days..my advice, bring money for about 1 1/2 weeks out there cause they have breakfast at the hotel in the morning, lunch at the school, then ocasionally dinner, but ALOT of "chubbier" guys go up there so you dont really get seconds if you know what i mean although you can get them..


    My advice is go for it man if it's what you wanna do. Don't let them recruiters lie to you. ask all that you need.

    WOW..Some schools may offer a refresher course.But like others have said,those tickets are what kills you.Got my cdl in 92,but didn't start driving otr till 94..I took a refresher course at a local tech school.And about a year later got on with Swift..14yrs later still trucking,but not with
    Swift..

    Well I called Arrow and it was a bust. basically need to wait 6 months or so until my felony is a little further behind me then they MIGHT hire me.
    Also they said i would need to have been driving within 60 days of applying so i may have a problem there also.
    If anyone knows of any renegade companies that may give me a shot please let me know. I really do not know what else to do to get the experience i would need to apply somewhere reputable. most would work with me if i had 1-2 years experience. but when all the cards are on the table now i have the losing hand. The only trump card i have is that i am at a reputable school. but i graduate in 3 weeks and that is my only source of drive time and when that is done i will have to take a 40 hour refresher. i will have 430 hours in after graduation.

    Enough rambling

    someone help me please.
