I am sure Tonn Ostergard or how he is called wouldnt give HIS dog away for a JOB!
Live free like an American, drive a German car and eat like the French!
OR DO YOU WANT to live like a German, drive a French car and eat like an American?
Quote from Tonn Ostergard(CEO CRETE Carrier in a Pilot mag. interview): I HOPE for an economic downturn...that FORCES people out of their jobs and into TRUCKING!

I'll bet Tonn doesn't take his dog to work, either.

There is a big difference between someone who goes to work in an office and comes home to his/her family and dog every day and a driver who LIVES in a truck by his/her self day in and day out weeks at a time. There is no separation of work and home for a driver. The truck is the drivers home when on the road, so to have such a casual attitude about taking a dog with a driver to work is pretty lame.

I realize the economy is hard right now, and that it is an employers market when times are like this. Times won't always be this bad, and as you guys know it isn't easy to get people who are willing to make the kind of sacrifices these men and women make daily to do this JOB. So I realize your companies have policies and as long as it is an employers market you can get away with it without worrying if you can get the recruits you need. As the economy gets its legs again it is these quality of life type issues that matter to drivers(both prospective and seasoned).

I think Crete is a good company, but it is these little things that will make a difference between companies.

Politicians are a lot like diapers,
    They should be changed frequently,
    And for the same reasons.

True, but driving isn't your typical 9 to 5 job, either. There is nothing similar between driving a truck and working in an office or a factory or other non-driving position, yet truckers try to make the comparison all the time and then get upset when a competing comparison is made by a non-trucker. You can't have it both ways.

If you want to compare driving a truck to working in an office, then the remark about Tonn not taking his dog to work is spot on and valid. If you don't think it's valid, then you can't make any other comparisons from your side.

I'm not trying to stir things up...I'm simply pointing out that the street has to go both ways.
