    Default Good company

Great place to work, I have no complaints about them. Equipment is nice and the runs are even better. they are sort of a dedicated company, u leave richmond with a load and return to the area with a load. pay is good and u can be home every weekn if u live in the right place.. other than that not much to say, all auto's no manual's..

their websites says they want their drivers to live at least 20 miles away from I-95, but a driver lives in the same town I do and drives for them (we're at about 40 miles away from I-95) so I figure that won't be a problem. He comes home every Friday evening and leaves out Monday morning. I've never seen him in person, just his truck so I haven't had the opportunity to ask him about the pay. I would believe they aren't very strict when it comes to hiring drivers as far as their job history is concerned because the guy that lives in my town has had at least 4 different jobs in the last year.

Digging up an old thread here, but was hoping to get some up-to-date info on Abilene. I spoke with Sissy on the phone today and plan on going into the office tomorrow or Wednesday for the full interview. What I was told on the phone sounds great, but really want to hear it from the drivers mouth, especially if they're currently employed there.

BTW - I live in northern WV, just off of I-79 and they said that it wouldn't be a problem with that.

Not really. In fact, this week is one of my best ever as far as miles go. But, I always keep my eyes open for greener pastures.

Interested to know how your interaction with Abilene went.
I live in Southern WV right beside I-77 and Abiliene has a small yard in Wytheville Va.

It had nothing to do with Abiline, but I decided to stay with Celadon, at least for the time being. It was nothing I was told or heard. They're still really high up on my list of companies.

Since posting this, I've talked to a few of their drivers and they are more than happy with them.
