    Default USA Truck

I was going thru the Drivers Rating board, and noticed that no one has responded about their company. I have signed on with them and I start the first of March. Has anyone ever drove for them before or are you currently driving for them now? I'm hoping that they will be pretty good, or at least decent to get my experience with.

Thanks Drew. I will work on my avatar. I am having problems with this website, and found that AOL is interfering with my responding to posts and working this site. So I can access it through Internet Explorer and I have no problems! Been Reading everyones posts for awhile, and finally thought I would jump in.

I figured as much when it comes to most of the companies, they all have their problems. Work you to death, blame you for all the problems and they are always right. Like they always say, you'll never get rich working for someone else.

Is it just me, or does that new International Truck look like a giant PT Cruiser?

Now that you said that, it does look alittle like it with the way the grill is designed.

A "coolie" is a reference to a "Chinese laborer" as in the ones that were imported to build the railroads in the 1800's. They worked for pennies a day and a bowl of rice and the occasional fish-head. Worked like slaves for nothing....and were treated the same way. Definitely not a refrigerated truck.

I'm starting with USA and haven't met any of their drivers who like it.

Back in '01 I drove for CRST and actually got along with the company fine, but life got in the way.

Basic thing is to not let the BS get to you, and just put one foot in front of the other.

This ColdFrostyMug dude knows the score. You should all heed his pearls of wisdom.

USA Truck = low rent outfit, as all contract carriers are. Use the search feature for this sweatshop.

Skywalker. I had seen "coolie" used but never understood until your explanation. Thanks for doing so. I can't help but to comment that it is so spot on. I have spent the past couple of days laughing at the actual word "coolie" and bumming out because of what it represents. Right on the Money

Anyone who is concidering driving for USA TRUCK. Should try some where else.
I worked for them,or I should say "tolerated them" for the longest 6 months I ever had with a company.
I am an exp driver but had some stuff on my dac so I had to stoop to a Coolie outfit like theirs for a bit for some things to blow over on my DAC.,
They hire these college age 7-8's as far as looks.(and I dont mean lotlizrd standards either)they are pretty decent looking recruiters who talk a good game to you want to meet you and all that. Some have even dated some drivers on the side(maybe the economy is hard in Van Buren,AR) but Im not going to go there on this post maybe another one.Kinda off topic. It has happen though.
USA Truck has this as a plus as far as hot young recruiters, at least when I was there.
Anyways They started me at .38 cent per mile for my exp but when its all said and done you deal w/complete retard never been no where, former burger flippers as dispatchers for their office network.
Not much going on in Van buren,AR I guess so they hire any random goober they can get in the office.
(Oh and payroll has some hot girls working their too.)
Anyways sorry I was just having some flash backs,DAM!
    ok back to the BS.

And lastly they'll make you sign a paper saying that If you quit them you have to turn it in at the Van Buren,AR terminal and no where else. They'll also not pay for your bus ride home.(oh they also take out a $500.00 out of your check if there is any damage.Thank god I got my $500.00 back from them because I was clean.
And lets say you live in 1500 miles away.and decide to clean out your truck at one of there ABF yards that they share. They will charge you X amount of cents per mile X1500 miles lets use as this example as "recovery fee" because you didnt turn it in to there Van Buren,AR terminal.
The truth is that they''ll never "recover it"they'll just bus the next newbie or whom ever
who needs a truck, out of their weekly orientation to get it.
So they'll even put that you abondond that truck on your DAC even if you had a police report writen that you parked it at one of their yards.
That was the case with me.
Anyways ladies and gents!, have fun out there.Be aware of OTRtrucking company SCAMS..PS.if you get in to a truck, read the msg's on the qual comm that the last driver wrote. He or she may not have erased them,But It probably wont be anything good.Take that as a clue on what the other driver went thru and what you may go thru aswell.

Sorry I forgot to add that my police report stating that I cleaned my truck out at one of their yards and a phone call from my attorney a week later to them if they put any false thing on my DAC that I was going to sue them.
it may have changed their minds about doing so.
I havent had anything bad on my DAC but I imagine if I didnt prepare like I did w/police+an attorney who I had to pay to make that call, what would of really happend my DAC.
Beware of USA,They''ll try to screw you on the way out.

Thanks for the info Sick. I briefly considered USA a few years ago as part of the P.A.M./USA/Star choices from C-1 Driver Training in Indianapolis.

Referencing your info quoted above.......Apparently they have a pretty good grasp on how to make a red-blooded male temporarily disregard what is really good for him.
Certainly not an original tactic. Yet time-proven and very effective all the same.

From my experience, everything you say is true. The previous driver of my truck didn't even answer the Qualcomm, and now I understand why.

It is months behind in PMs, the steering pulls to the right, the windshield is chipped, the ICOM doesn't work half the time, the blower in the sleeper is fried, it has an oil leak and a coolant leak...I forget what else. My dispatcher refuses to allow me to get it serviced.

I have gotten in touch with someone from maintenance who will schedule me for some service no matter what my dispatcher says. I'm on home time now so maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But I don't like driving a time bomb down the road.

Thank you for the advice about leaving the truck. Heaven knows I'd like to leave it in a landfill, but I'll preplan my departure as carefully as possible. And I'll have a lawyer ready to call them.

People wonder why this country is going to Hell - this is it, folks. When someone you don't know will risk your life for a dollar, it is time to find another table.

    Maybe they're hiring in Australia...

refuse to drive the truck until it gets fixed. If your dispatcher gives you hell, start making phone calls to the company. Work your way to the ceo if you need to.
