The trick with Millis is to get connected with a decent OTR trainer...

Once you get past training they are an ok bunch to work for.

Congratulations on passing the road test BigDaddy. Please keep us informed as to how things go for you. I'm just thinking about getting into trucking, and Millis is one of the companies I've considered. Best of luck to you!

    BigDaddy,
Hey, are you still with Millis? I ask as I am very seriously thinking about trying to hook up with them. They have a school not far from me, here in Ohio, and based on what I've read about them, and that's kind of not been too much, they seem like an alright first company to get in with...

Please post your experiences with them and I hope all's going well with you....Central Ohio Guy here..

I did not go to Millis,I stayed local. However I see & talk with some Millis guys that do pick ups at my job. They love it. In the end I decided not to goto Millis because I already had my CDL, there were to many issues coming up from the school/training. Guys being sent home just before testing out, classes canceled etc. At this time I am a swing driver for Envipco (Environmental Products Recycling Co ) The pick up redemption Glass, aluminum & plastic. The glass totes weigh 120lbs each and sometimes we have to dump into a rolling bin (8 totes) or into a gaylord(big square bin) holds 11-12 totes then push onto the trailer. Dirty, smelly nasty work but someone has to do it. I"m continuing to look for a permeant driving position. Swing Driving isnt for me, sometimes I drive, sometimes I'm the helper. I want to be behind the wheel daily. For more info on Millis check the other forums and also there forum. BEst of luck and let me know if you go and how you like it.
