Tradewinds Trans out of IN?

Anyone know anything about Tradewinds trans out of Indiana? Would like more info than whats on their website. Thanks all.

I have been with them for about 6 1/2 months and they are ok. Am Owner Op andbthey seem to be like everyone else. Have their quirks but small company and I think nice people so far. Alittle slow right now though

What is your running areas? When the freight is good, how many miles do you average? I'm just tired of all the big companies mentality of not caring about their drivers. I like the idea of a small company. Do they have their own freight or do they broker loads? Thanks for your reply.

I don't know about the company drivers, but I usually run 2100-3600, for me its all about running less miles and making more. They run all 48 and I think have regional, but lately I have been running up to New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, but thats just me whoever is your dispatcher if you come aboard will ask you where you want to run and most the time they are pretty good about doing it. I think they only have about 150 to 175 drivers(company, Owner ops, and Lease purchase) They do have their own freight, but not sure how it works with company drivers. I personally deal not only with Tradewinds freight, but deal with brokers. I know oh-boy, but the ones we deal with have been the same ones for years so it's pretty cut and dry. I wish I could be of more help, but I don't know to much in regards to the company part of it. Good luck, and hope this does help alittle. Be safe

Thanks for the info. I was told by the recruiter they only have lease trucks available. Thats fine with me. Their program looks fair enough. I hate the northeast but I'm not going to turn down those loads. Miles are money.

That might be a mistake you regret while after you lose your House/home.
Not saying anything negative about Tradewinds but switching from a company driver to a Lease Purchase/ operator is a completely different ball game--- the phrase "miles are money" isn't always a 100% true statement.

HeadBorg is exactly right. If thats what your gonna do, lose the company driver mentality. Just because its alot of miles doesn't always mean you make more money or are any better than something shorter

I have been a lease operator for over a year and a half. I know about the mentality. I was very happy my first year but the truck I have now keep breaking down. When I get one problem fixed, something else goes bad. It's a 2006 truck no less. And my present company says since I signed the lease, I'm responsible for all repairs. I understand having to repair my truck, but over $14,000 since june, I'm losing my butt real fast. I really enjoy running my business and I have shown that I can make good money doing it. Thanks for your concerns.
