Have you thought about talking to the local log haulers?
There are companies around there that haul logs. Might be able to find a good local outfit. I know of one in Waycross.

Check with the area food service companies, beverage companies, and trash haulers. Also check with the local LTL companies (conway, roadway, ABF, etc).

Sometimes they will hire new or newer drivers, but many times these jobs are never advertised in the papers so you need to go down to their offices/terminals and actually talk to them and put in an application.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

You might want to check out P and L transportatiob. 1 Grange Road, Port Wentworth, GA 31407. (912) 964-1511 . I know they are slow right now, but by the time you get done your training it should be picking back up
