Yeah, their DC is in San Marcos off of I-35. You arrive there at 11am and won't leave until 9pm that night. A person whom don't like to run much might enjoy these loads going there. Now if you are asking about working inside, then they are just like some other companys whom hire lumpers. You are working for a independent company, but I'm not sure.

I lived in Houston for several years and applied to them a couple of times.
Prefect driving record and spotless MVR. Never even got an interview.
I feel that I did not meet their "criteria". You may have better luck.

A friend of mine works in stocking and they told him if he was with them 6 mos. they would put him through school. I thought that was wierd. I always considered HEB to be like WALMART as far as experience is concerned. Plus their website was no help at all.

I do know one thing- their trucks have TINY little fuel tanks! You'd have to fill up every day.

A few years ago I drove for an O/O that was leased to Parkway (The O/O division of HEB) The work was steady. Most deliveries are done at night. They are very efficient at dispatch. The only problem was that there are several warehouses depending on what product you are picking up. (ie a milk plant, bread plant, dry bulk whs, freezer) Most times dispatch would tell us that a trailer was one place only to have the guard say that a yard truck dragged it over to another location. They do keep track of trailer location via computer everytime it passes thru a guardshack. You have to pallet jack everything off at the store into the back room but at the whse you just drop the trailer and get the next. It was a physical job but it was steady work. The company drivers take more home the the O/O's. The company guy get all of the local runs and the O/O's take the longer runs.

Go to their main whse and tell the guard that you want an app. They are on the service rd just south of Rittiman Rd.

You are a rumor, recognizable only as deja vu, and dismissed just as quickly. You don't exist. You were never even born. Anonymity is your name, silence is your native tongue. You are no longer part of the system. You are above the system, over it, beyond it. We are "them." We are "they." We are the Men in Black.
