Default Having fun with the CB at truck stops ...

I use the CB on the highway to see what's going on ahead , But when at truck stops I'll start SH$T when i got nothing better to do I limit my on time to about 20 second bursts every few minutes so I don't hinder others in the area that might be trying to use it for things like directions or what not , But I got into starting trouble at truck stops ,so much I had my CB peaked to about 100 watts ...And then had a nice big amp box built just so I would pretty much always have the last word ... I know it's Not the most "MATURE" thing , But I was wondering how many on here enjoy starting a good rumble over the CB ...

I like it when people start crap on the cb, it reminds me to shut the thing off.

I don't need that as a reminder b/c my CB has to many lights to forget it's on

My opinion: Get a life!!! Just a BBR wanabe. (not that anybody really wants to be). Surely you got better things to do on your break than start crap on the CB. The CB shops that sell all those toys and Kickers should be put out of business, what a waste of good money. Stirring up crap on the CB is just as bad as the Rambos. As soon as I hit the off ramp for the TS, CB gets turned down, and as soon as Im parked it gets shut off. I spend enough time in the drivers seat. Dont need to be sitting there stirring up crap on the radio. It really amazes me that with availablity of 40channels, less channel 9, there must be multiply conversation on channel 19 occurring at the same time, and everbody talking on top of each other, and getting nothing accomplished. Just shows the mentality of the drivers that partake in this acitivity.
(Just my 2cents, I feel better now)

Well, they don't call it Sesame Street for nothing. That's why, towards the end of my OTR dweller days, I kept the tin-can off 90% of the time. Mostly, I just listened to XM Radio.

Nowadays, I carry a hand-held Midland CB around with me. Mostly for a couple of food warehouses and helping-out guys who get lost around here (easy to do).

Right that really makes me feel like allowing my kids out with my husband! Glad my daughter had an alarm whistle and was shown how to use the zapper! But that type of mentality is scary!

    Default CB

Don't be surprised if at some point your VSWR goes out of sight. Very easy to mess up coax with a straight pin, very hard to see too. BOL

So when you are talking on the CB,I hope you are logging that time on line 4.Unless your mic cord reaches the sleeper. It's amazing how immature some can act on the road.I hope when you are home, you aren't out in the truck talking on the CB.

Actually yes the mic cord reaches the sleeper ...Why on earth would I talk trash in full view from the front seat when I don't want anyone to know who they are arguing with . I don't take the truck home , but do have my old starter radio a cobra 25 wich has a galaxy final tune on it swinging about 40 watts I was going to put in my car ...

That's real mature.hiding behind a curtain, talking to whoever will listen, but don't want to be seen. That shows that you are ashamed of what you are doing.Get a life and use your spare time more productively.Read, listen to Sirius Radio,or at least get a TV.No wander the trucking industry is going down the tubes .Maybe Santa will bring you a little maturity for Christmas.

When I drove for Conway thats all we did when we were driving. One of the guys I ran with to Indianapolis could have quit his driving job and make a living being a stand up comedian doing impersonations.

    Also to ad...

Honestly, guys like you provided me with hours of entertainment when I first started driving OTR. I didn't have a TV, XM or a computer so listening to my CB was all I had. A good radio war was always better entertainment than a bunch of truckers talking shop.
