My cousin is in that division. You'll haul anything steel but mostly coils. Some bars, beams, flat stuff etc. Mainly the traditional rust belt running lanes, Pittsburg, Cleveland, Detroit, Gary, Chicago, St Louis, some Wisc. Occasional KY, TN, WV, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma. Anything in the eastern half is always a possibility. He went thru their training and started at .34 and averaged 800-1000/wk gross. After 6 months he went to .39 and is consistently around $1000/wk occcasional 12-1300 wk. Overall he likes it and they get him home every weekend for 48-60hrs off. He has a hard time even volunteering for weekends. Steel just doesnt move much on weekends. I also pulled steel a couple years ago, not for Maverick, but I know the biz. If you're in these running lanes its a decent gig for making some money and still getting plenty of home time. If you're near one of these cities you can even get thru the house during the week sometimes.

I drive for Maverick in their southwest division.I have seen our covered wagons down in Laredo several times. You will go to where the freight is.I have carried some different freight here of late.Maverick will find the freight to keep you going.
