it's a simple keyboard that you use in the truck to send and recieve information from your company. I'm sure someone else will jump in with more info about the satelite and stuff like that. But if you can find this website you can work the Q/C

Well finding this web site was not really hard. I have 7 web sites myself and over 80 web pages, 4 Yahoo Forums, and have been selling on the internet for 11 yrs after I retired as a Computer Specialist with the Govt.
Back in 77 my first computer only had 4 k of ram, Tape Backup.

But I just wanted to know all it did.

I guess my Blackberry is more advanced.
    It has unlimited email accounts
Built in GPS with the whole US Street Maps built in.
    Telephone
It is also a wireless modem to my computer if needed
    Address Book
    Memo Pad
    Calendar
    Internet Browser
    Task Manager
    Alarms
    Calculator
    Bunch of games

Well thanks for the info, I will have my Laptop onboard when I get my own truck

The qualcom gives you proof of conversation between you and your employer as you are traveling the 48 states. Since cell phone conversation are not proof. Proof of what they asked you to do and proof that you agreed that you can do it legally and accept the challenge. Trust me never take just anyones word, better to use the qualcom.

Yes I agree with that. On another message thing a guy with a company after dispatch told him to pick up another load he sent back a message about the dispatch knowing he was out of time for that day and the dispatcher called him and told him never put something like that on the Qualcomm. Covering his own A**

I will not drive when I am suppose to be on rest. and I don't want to screw up my logbook.

Looking forward to a restart, especially if close to home.

the qualcomm is more a monitor of the truck, and as a side note, it has text messaging for the driver, which is also part of the companys communication

it is not a gps for the driver, shucks,, you cant even save your messages, it deletes them when it deems fit

like it used to be called years ago, its a sqawkbox, it informs the company of what that truck is doing

yes, your blackberry, my cell phone, my gps, my wireless connection are for me and my usage, for sending emails and the like

but the qualcomm is for the company, make no mistake about it

I didnt read all the post above...but

if there were to be an accident the QC data the company is required to keep will reveal how long the truck was rolling and if the driver was running legal.

There is NO hiding from the recording and playback of this electronic device. Its federally regulated.

From what I understand anything transmitted on it is stored n a databank
somewhere out west should the info be needed at a later time.

Best to take it very serious methinks

Other than that it is just a dispatch device

    Ok now I get it.

Like an old fashioned printing thing. It has a lever/handle that you move over each letter you want to type on the stone pad and then you pull down the handle to make the impression. Move it to the next letter and do the same.
Or put a walnut under to crush.

Make sure I bring a bag of walnuts.

My gps and trip routing on my blackberry is ok if your riding shotgun but useless while driving because it is not big enough to see and drive both.

Qualcomm is publicly traded on the stock market. The shareholders own Qualcomm.
...another place, where the faces are so cold
I'd drive all night just to get back home

Why would you assume one owns the other?? Both are seperate companies doing business with each other as in any other company that utilizes Qualcomm...However Qualcomm is the "owner" of Werners electronic logs.
