    Default CDL Question

I am suppose to start school in riverside for Central Refrigerated Service INC on Oct 15th

I currently live and have a AZ Class D Drivers Lic.

So I downloaded the CA DMV CDL Manual to start studying as I was studying the Arizona Manual the past month. They are really close to the same manual.

When we moved to Arizona June 1st gave up my Calif Drivers Lic after having it from age 16, That was a long time ago, 49 years.

Anyway the CDL manual says to get a Calif CDL I have to live in calif or prove I am a resident with fishing lic or something.

And I know you are not allowed to have two drivers Lic so I am wondering what the school is going to do to inable me to go to the closes DMV and get my CDL Permit so I can legally drive, and where are they going to send me for the final skills testing?

I think by now the school qualify to give the tests but not sure.
I am thinking they will have to send me to Kingman to do my testing.

My recruiter was going to scan me all the school info last Friday but guess she got busy again. I have no idea how much money I need to bring or nothing so playing it by ear for now.

They will cancel your AZ license and issue you a temporary CA CDL. Then when you go back to AZ you have to apply for a AZ CDL. I don't know if AZ will make you take a driving test but they will make you take the written. It's a pretty simple procedure, it's pretty pretty common for drivers to go to school in a different state.

That's why they will issue you a temp license and not a regular valid CA CDL.

    OK
They say the Lic is 60 bucks. I wonder if you get a better deal on a Temp.

But again it says Must Be A resident of CA to get a Ca CDL. I still have an address in CA but it is a PO Box

You will use the address of the school for your license. Almost every school out there does this in order for you to get a CDL permit to practice driving. Quite common.
