I saw in one of the trucking magazines that Roehl is now getting into some refridgerated hauling. They a call the reefer division Blume Refridgerated. Anyone know anything about this?

Roehl bought Blume Farms a few months ago
Yes, they bought out a older company out of Dorchester, WI (northern WI). Old man Blume wanted out of the industry is the understand I have. Roehl has been asking every driver to take a refer load out with a short 15 minute course on running the unit and offering a bit more in pay. Personally, I will not run a refer but that is my decision. I decided on Roehl back when because they were dry van, flat and curtainside operation. Don't want to mess with food warehouses or freight that can spoil. You will see the red Roehl trucks with refers and Blume trucks with Roehl dry vans.

What is the deal with curtainside? What do they haul in there? You would think that would be more difficult than reefer. I have pulled reefer, and that was not that bad. I suppose that every trailer has a drawback of some such..
Curtainsides are flatbeds that you don't have to tarp, since the walls slide like a curtain. It's just an ordinary flatbed.Originally Posted by omapilot
