The search feature turned up nothing. Their website doesn't say anything. I got a pre-hire from them and am just wondering if there is anyone out there that knows anything about this company.

It's a small company. I figure I'd probably not get any immediate info.

The thing about PI&I that gets a lot of people interested is the fact that they are union (dues) and that they pay 100% of your medical insurance. On the surface that looks real nice until you start to dig a little deeper. Equipment sucks, a lot of steel mills (which means waiting) and some of their terminals are absolute dumps (worst I've ever seen). Their home time is pretty good but the pay is mediocre at best. Most drivers average $700-$800 gross per week. They also make you spend at least two weeks at the company HQ near Youngstown learning load securement. The hotel they put you up in is pretty poor and you have to take a roommate or pay extra out of your pocket. I can't remember what the training pay was other than it wasn't very good.
Two years ago I went thru the complete hiring process and had a start date when Crete called to say I was approved to go with them. The one thing that sticks in my mind the most was the almost pathetic look on the terminal managers face when I told him I wouldn't be working for him. He was so desperate for drivers and I had been his only prospect for months.
I'm willing to die to protect my Right to Bear Arms.
Are you willing to die to take them away from me?
Hey Karnajj, thanks for the info. Anyone else out there have any info on this company?

Just like Karnajj said, LOTS OF STEEL MILLS AND LOTS OF WAITING(for free). Several years ago PI&I bought out a company call Team Transport. They where located in warrendale, PA. That gave PI&I access to Teams old customers, LOTS OF STEEL MILLS(espically the ones in the Pittsburgh area).Originally Posted by Colts Fan

That is all I know.
Thanks for the info guys.
