    Default Swift - Wal-Mart Dedicated.

I'm headed to orientation at the Abq. Swift terminal on Monday. They picked me up for the dedicated Wally World account out of the Los Lunas, NM distribution center.

Anyone ever been on this account for Swift who would like to shed some light on the subject?

I encounter a lot of the Swift/Wal-Mart drivers because I work in the backroom at store 5155 in Las Cruces on the overnight shift. Many of them were former Merritt drivers who were inherited by Swift when Swift took over the dedicated account.

Most seem to like it, I guess because it's consistent and they stay in the southwest region.

Orlando and Ramon are the DSD recievers you'll encounter most of the time if you deliver meat/produce at 5155. They're pretty good guys, they'll try to get you unloaded ASAP unlike some of the other stores who can't seem to be bothered with unloading trucks. Chances are you'll run into me on occasion too. 8)
You can take the driver out of the truck but you cant take the truck out of the driver.

Hello, I drive out of the Casa Grande terminal. About twice a year I spend a month at the Los Lunas terminal. They have allways been good to me. It is easy to drive for, just deliver the Frozen trucks by midnight, and the meat and produce by 6 am, no appointment times, and your leads have priority at the stores. Wal Mart has provided us with trailers, we drop and hook our dry loads, Los Lunas still does not.

That often wreaks havoc with us at the stores, especially when we get the dry grocery trucks/remix trucks at 2-3AM, which means 1/2 the night is gone. WM has subcontracted some of the dry grocery loads to Mesilla Valley Transportation. That was touch and go for a while in the beginning because those poor MVT drivers had no clue about WM's policies, etc.
You can take the driver out of the truck but you cant take the truck out of the driver.
