    Default Maverick-waiting list

This question has probably been asked several times on this site. But how long is the wait to get into their training ? Do they usually call midweek and need you there the first of the week? All my employment stuff has been ok'd. just wondering because that wouldn't give my employer I'm working for now much notice.

Which division are you looking into, the flatbed or glass division? If it's flatbed, I've heard of waits as long as 4 to 6 months. If you're looking into glass, then I think they'd be calling you within a few days.

I was looking at flatbed, because of getting home on weekends, what type of schedule does specialized run.

If you're wanting to be home most every weekend, then the flatbed division would intrest you the most. Specialized gets you home every other weekend. I like running 2 weeks then going home for a couple of days while some like to be home more often.

I would pefer getting home once a week but am not opposed to being out longer. My other question is about how much lead time before going to cdl school ? If I went with specialized sounds like I could get started alot earlier than flatbed. Is all their schooling in Ark. are do they have schools other locations?

I start CDL school for Maverick on Monday at ASU and I have heard that students don't really have a waiting list. Is that true? Plus I am being assigned to the US division.

They have been calling me since the end of June but haven't been able to go due to completing a job I was contracted on. They would call ever week to see if I was ready and finally I got to say yes.

When they call you to schedule orientation, simply tell them that you need to give your current employer 2 weeks notice. Trust me they will understand and they would expect to be extended the same kind gesture.

I was self-employed when I went there and didn't need to give notice to anyone and yet when I told them I needed an extra week to tie up loose ends, they were fine with that.

Good luck being home on weekends. New drivers want the home time, but it aint no fun being home and being broke.

You obviously know nothing about Maverick's hometime policy. Stick to your CFI recruiting.

Mavericks flatbed division gets over 90% of their drivers home every weekend UNLESS the driver wants to stay out longer.
Specialized division stays out for 2 weeks at a time.
