    Default Autozone

Anyone here drive OTR for Autozone. I looked at their careers website and got the basics about having to unload and such but just want to see if anyone's drove for them and what they have to say. Thanks.

We run the Autozone account on the west coast. I dont know if being a company driver for them would be different. But what I know about the account. Yes, there is a lot of unloading. Ours you pretty much you stay on the west coast and you are home every weekend. I havent heard too many drivers complain about it as long as they know about all the unloading before they get into it.

i have a cousin(wifes) that works there and likes it alot from what i know. i also have run wih a guy for 2 years now that drives for them and he really likes it. new guy gets bottom of the bids but will work the way up, and i beleive they rebid every 6 months. livin in coshocton it would probably be good, i live in crooksville, i thought about it but i got it pretty good now. as far as unloading you have a power jack and all you do is move the skids to the lift gate and drop them down. they also have some team runs...z.ville to reading, pa. d/h and come back. i think 4 days a week or 7 trips, dunno for sure. call out there or just go out to the dc and get an ap.. i think they are hiring.

Thanks jedfxg!!!! I stopped out there last night and they said they weren't hiring drivers right now They seem like a good outfit and I heard they have good runs. I'm pretty much looking for a weekend driving gig because I'm going to school at Muskingum in New Concord. Do you think that the Pepsi or Coke bottler companies in Zanesville will have any jobs like that??? Thanks again for the info!!!!

When I worked for Coke many years ago, the drivers only deliver to the stores on weekdays. Only the merchandisers would hit the stores on weekends. They just restock the shelves and displays, no driving.

Only good thing about AutoZone is that computer thing that they hook up to your pickup to see why the Service Engine Light is on. Once they tell me what it is, I thank them for it, and buy the parts from my buddies. :P AutoZone is crooked as a snake. :P

I worked for Auto Zone for eight months and yep, they're crooked as a barrel of snakes. I was promised a management training position and was in training - for about two weeks and got busted down to low man on the totem pole. Their employees have no set days off and because of that it's impossible to plan your life as they want you to believe that Auto Zone is your life! The last straw for me was when they promised me a weekend off for my youngest daughter's birthday and on Thursday evening told me I would have to work. I said adios, dude, I'm outta here!

Their drivers are treated right though and they have to unload as far as moving the pallets and totes to the tailgate and down to the loading dock and then into the back of the store, not hard at all. Their trucks run the gamut from Freight shakers to Volvos.
