    Default PGT Drivers

I have been accepted to attend Orientation with PGT in Birmingham Al. and then operate out of Lone Star Texas yard. Any info on the company or anything else I might need to know. I have 7 years OTR ,1year being flatbed.

Well, I dont know anything about them, other than just seeing their trucks, but I looked at their website. None of my business, but if it were me, I would look around. According to their website, the pay doesnt look that hot. You stated that you have 7 years of experience, and on the website, it said that at 7 years/26 cpm. I think, I would have to see what else is around. That's just me.

Since you'll be running out of Lone Star you'll be getting paid by the mile. I started with PGT back in April right out of school and have been out of Lone Star for two weeks now.

Not sure what the pay is with your exp. but it starts out at 35cpm. And thats for deadhead miles too.

So far I don't have any real complaints about them. They do a pretty good job of getting ya' home on the weekends and will always ask before they make you work the weekends (my exp. so far). In three months with them I've only worked one full weekend. And that's only because I took a load going to Fargo and it took some doing getting me back down south.

I know there's one other PGT driver on here who drives for them now (DaveP) and another that drove out of LS a while ago.

If ya' have any questions feel free to ask here or PM me.

Hey thanks for the info downsouthdriver.I live about 50 miles northwest of Austin. Am scheduled for Orientation on the 23rd of July. Supposed to go to Birmingham Al and then either get a truck there or possibly Lone Star. Don't PGT also have a yard in Laredo?

Yeah, they do. It serves as a drop yard for frieght coming and going into and out of Mexico. And if your lucky, you wont see very often. Coming or going almost always pays well, but you can sit for a while if you have to wait for something coming from Mexico. But Ceaser, whos runs the place down there is a pretty good guy and does his best to make that wait as short as possible.
