    Default TMC info

I am going through Roadmaster now and will hopefully be out at the end of July. I am really interested in driving for TMC. Can any one of the guys employed by TMC tell me whether I would be able to join TMC living in Jacksonville, Fl? I read a previous post where someone mentioned that TMC would not hire him because he lived below a certain interstate. I live about 10-12 minutes away from I-10 in Jacksonville. Sounds like I could run into the same issue.

We are suppose to have a TMC recruiter come out to the school but it will not be until the last week of school. We have been told not to do online apps and to let Roadmasters placement help acquire jobs as they "have connections" to get us employment. The reason I posted on this forum is that I noticed that there are a few supervisors from TMC that post frequently.

Just a wild ***** guess but maybe Roadmaster gets a kickback for referals?? Trust me, if you have a CDL and a clean record you can get your own job without any help from Roadmaster. In fact, Roadmaster may be tempted to steer you to the one that pays higher kick-back instead of the company that would be the best fit for you.

i have a friend that went to a school in ft worth. he wasnt going through school for a particular company and they told him not to submit online apps also. they tried hooking him up with PAM and hit him up pretty hard with that several times. he had to break them down and say NO.

You can probably get on with TMC but being South of I-10, you'll probably be out 2 weeks at a time instead of 1 week before TAH

I saw a TDT truck a while back in a truckstop. I went over to the driver to give him the hidy-ho welcome and he was a TMC driver helping them out

yea we are in hot and heavy pulling trusses out of lake city with them. they tried to give me a crappy TDT trailer and of course that wasnt going to happen on my watch. made some calls and load was loaded on my trlr. i figured by now that they would have changed their hiring criteria to match the rest of the company.

The recruiter and one of the trucks showed up Wednesday and told me just as long as my license had Jacksonville on it I would be able to do either, linehaul or longhaul. The recruiter also said they didn't have alot of drives out of this area so a possible trainer would not be from this area.

PDiddy, man, If I join TMC, I hope i'm as lucky as you to get a trainer out of florida! With my luck, the trainer will be from Virginia or Texas!

Have read most of TMZ's threads.

Lots of newbies trying to get onboard and onboard.

What is TMZ's turn over rate?

It can't be as high as the mega carriers or is it?

Does TMZ still do spot inspections of units and fire drivers for now keeping thier truck clean and a military bunk?

I keep my truck spotless also, can polish all 6 plus font end, mirrors and stack in an hour. I use a small air powered die grinder with a 4" buffing wheel, drive it off of trailer air line.

I also carry a 2.5 gal wet/dry shop vac (don't get the truck stop 12 v model, go to Lowes pay $10.00 more and get a real shop vac that works)
Got the shop vac idea from a 379'er- lime green loooonnnng WB show truck matching reefer, - has white carpet. meet him at Breezewood.

Pull into a shipper, if you look professional, well kept equipment and speak with intelligence, you will get the better loads and loaded quicker. They see your professionalism and know that you will take cars of their freight.

you are right, I forgot the most important point, "it keeps you out of the dot spotlight though"

I have only been dot'd once, I70 east into Baltimore, had hazmat load and the were training hazmat dot cops that day. that was the only reason they stopped me. Got a clean bill of health.

Bunk has to be made? You guys are adults, right? That's a little much for a company to require your bunk to be made. I'm not a slob, but come on!

that is their policy. like it or leave it. some people are slobs and cant get the trash or pee bottles out of their truck let alone make the bed.
