not sure how long ago it was for you brown but this site has the list of companies comparing different requirements. most want to felony to be at least 5 years old. i orginally signed on at CR England but I wouldn't recommend that at all. I did it because there were the only ones who would have me and my felony is 21 years old. Since I left them i have gotten offers. Keep your head and stay persistent. Things will come to you.

    Default Don't Ever Give Up

First off, I want to thank all the Do-Gooders that seem to think someone with a felony is only good enough to flip burgers or something like that.
It was you all that made my quest all that more enjoyable.
Yes it was tough to find a company willing to take a chance on me. However, I did find a good reputable company willing to hire me.
And I spoke to the man in charge on my home from my last day of trucking school.
They hired me after speaking to me about my offenses and checking on some personal references, despite my checkered past. And they have a good relationship with the school and my instructors gave me excellent references. So if you are going to submit applications online only, be prepared to get alot of rejections. because they only have what they ask for on the application to make a decision. and most will not even call to ask you about the offense. If you are serious enough about getting into the business and are truely reformed, someone will see that and give you a chance.

    Good Luck

The pay is incredibly offset to the point where you'd be better off flipping burger and going home every night. As far as making this a moral issue - well, I would put drinking and driving and battery much higher on the list of any felony you'll find. I'd also higher a dealer over a user anyday.
With logic like this, no wonder this country has sunk to the point where a Barack Hussein Obama legitimately has a shot at the Presidency!

you are so right. its the same country where the grandson of a rum runner became president. the same country where a retired actor became presidetnt. the same country where a guy who couldn't even run a baseball team with a C average in college is running the counrty. your true concern, as i read between the lines, is that a black man has a shot of becoming president. in case you haven't gotten the memo yet, even the KKK has endorse Barack over is Hiliary

I had a felony five years ago which was non-violent, no drugs, but I spent a year inside, and it was caused by my own brother believe it or not. If I had the money to hire a decent attorney I would never have been convicted. The point being that there are thousands of guys in jail who don't deserve to be there, and others who will pay their dues and do very well when they get out. Even so there goes the black mark on their records and they immediately make themselves hard to hire. I have struggled for six years to get back up to the point where I can earn that .40cpm. and still some companies won't hire me. Meanwhile I see company drivers everyday who look like dumpster divers and act like one as well. I see good ole' boys with attitudes, gang bangers, skin heads, you name it. Unless you have walked their walk please take a moment to reflect on your judgmental opinion. Some deserve criticism and others do not. Keep it to yourself otherwise because you have no idea what you are talking about. DSCO will hire, as will May Trucking and Hendrickson, also Arrow, Melton, and a host of others. When you get to five years it becomes much easier. Even so some companies want 7-10 years. Call recruiting and straight up what their felony policy is and how many years it is. You will find something with perseverance.

Melton hired me with a felony from 1992 but it wasnt a drug charge, thats a tough one to combat. Can you get it sealed or expunged??

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I MAY be able to help you understand something here. Trucking is about positive COMMUNICATION between many people:

Drivers, dispatchers, shippers, DOT officers, safety departments, payroll, benefits dept, mechanics, recievers, the list goes on.

See how small the role of the driver actually becomes once you look at how freight moves? However, the driver gets all the "crap" for being the most difficult to deal with in the logistics chain.

    You stated in previous posts:

Once you get your legal troubles worked out, there may be other reasons you aren't suited for commercial driving. You have to able to talk to people without being easily offended.
