Default Finally drove a Crete Truck

Ok maybe it was just for my "road test", but it sure was satisfying after a year or so of research of trucking. Deciding to leave the state job, going to and finishing "Orange Barrell University." It was only a road test but a good one at that. It took a little getting used an actual clutch  and brakes  , unlike the worn out ones at trucking school. All that is left is word on the drug test 8) . Everything else was a-ok. Drive careful out there ya all.

Congrats and hopefully welcome to the Crete Family!

I am almost finished with my vacation and will be back in a red Crete truck next Wed or Thursday. Depends upon transportation back to Phoenix....

    Default Thanks

I appreciate the comments. Devildice you have been on this board as long or longer than I have, I always make sure to read your comments. The satisfaction of finally "almost" getting there is wonderful. I am not worried about the drug test, the only illegal drugs I have ever touched were while arresting people for them.
As for Snakelady, you should look into Crete. I have yet to drive for them but have studied them and others for a year or more. I won't lie to ya, my two biggest reasons for choosing them is 1) a terminal 20 minutes from the house 2) The earliest age of children allowed on the truck with you that I found with any company. ( up to 4 yrs old with another parent along and 5 and older with you only.) Most it appears to be 16 with some relaxing limit to 10-12 in the summer months. It took 8 years of infertility to have these two and darned if I am going to wait till 12-16 to have them go with me. Some of the hilights of my child hood were riding with my Uncle way back when. Thanks again you all. Be safe.

See this is exactly the "message" I have been trying to echo from the 'old-timers"......a person, no matter how experienced (or not) NEEDS to research a company thoroughly to ensure it will be the best fit for him/her.

Again, congrats and best of luck to you......I look forward to hearing how things work out. Crete was right at the top of my list of prospective companies but got edged out by Davis Transport by a hair.
