Long runs getting paid mileage or short runs working the dock, who cares. You are getting paid the entire time you are working. IIRC, most Fed-Ex freight drivers do work dock but, who cares. It can make you another 10-15K a year on top of the mileage at that nice rate. This is one reason why Freighthaulers make more money in most cases. Another reason is the mileage is usally accuarte between terminals. Certainly, not all guys get 2500 miles a week. You probally have to work your way up the board a bit in most cases. Either way, you are still getting paid the entire time.

The paid mileage on all of the runs from my barn is within 1-2% of what the odometer shows. Could just be the speedo calibration.
