Just an update for everyone. Maverick has been keeping me really busy in the past couple of months. Been to MN (2 times), IA, NE, IL (2 times), NC, PA (3 times), and NY. Whew, lots of miles!...lol...Now in Moorestown NJ waiting to unloaded in the morning, then it's back to NC for a couple of days off! Hope the rest of ya'll are staying just as busy.

Just talked to Christen And there was a mix up.
They thought I was wanting the flatbed division. That's why they said they couldn't sponsor me for a CDL.
She is going to verify my employment and call me in the new year.
I've still got my fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone
Jimmy
Who is the tall dark stranger there?
Maverick is the name.
Riding the trail to who-knows-where
Luck is his companion
Gamblin' is his game.
Smooth as the handle on a gun.
Maverick is the name.
Wild as the wind in Oregon
Blowin' up a canyon
Easier to tame.
Riverboat ring your bell.
Fare-thee-well Annabelle.
Luck is the lady that he loves the best.
Natchez to New Orleans.
Livin' on jacks and queens.
Maverick is a legend of the west.

Got my app in for the OTR flat division. If the curtainsides come thru and they do away with the tarping of the glass, I will look into specialized also! I didn't want to commit myself to the specialized and not be able to go to flat if I didn't like it, but I hear going from flat to specialized is WAY easier.Originally Posted by smokdu

after hauling my first load of 3 steel coils i am glad that I came to the glass side of the housei hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and enjoys their New Years. I will be somewhere between Madison, IL and New Berlin, WI by then. BTW, if u haven't stopped at the terminal in Madison, I recommend it. Top Notch!!
How's the situation on the curtain sides? Seen anymore come in?
i've seen plenty of them, have only pulled one though. i have one of the newer stepdecks, i'll take a pic of it later and try to figure how to post it on here
not the best tarp job in the world. but it made it the 1000 mile trip
this is 9 cases of glass

Since the last post was in Jan 08 and it is now Nov 08 can anyone elaborate on how Maverick is today? Do they have the newer trailers? How is the frieght with the economy in the crapper? I am scheduled to start class 1/5/09 and goes to the end of feb. (8 wks 384 hours). I have read in some other posts some very negative stuff about Maverick but I think that was when the transition took place. Any info would be helpful. I am about 80% sure I want to hire on with Maverick being that I live within 2 hrs of the terminal. Thanks in advance.
